Job Overview
Director of Children’s Ministry: As part of Family Ministries, oversee the ministry of shepherding children ages birth – 5th grade and provide oversight of the Children’s Ministry programming and staff. Direct a healthy, gospel-centered ministry to Nursery, Preschool, and Elementary age children. Provide direct leadership over Elementary Sunday morning programming. Partner with parents to encourage and equip them in their primary role of discipling their children. Fully integrate with Family Ministries and partner with all PCPC ministries to strengthen families in building Christ-centered, gospel-saturated homes. Lead, supervise, and shepherd the Children’s Ministry staff team.
Job Description
Oversee special events, including VBS. Teach children’s classes when needed. Maintain an active presence on Sunday mornings in Children’s areas. Recruit, train, lead, and shepherd volunteers. Manage resources including people, work plans, processes, and timelines. Oversee Children’s budgets. Must affirm and uphold the Bible and its teachings, as well as Presbyterian theology and the Westminster Confession. Must possess an abiding faith in the Lord and be committed to serving God. Must be able to easily connect with people from various backgrounds, ages, and walks of faith. College degree required. Seminary degree preferred but not required. Three to five years of experience working in a Children’s Ministry or equivalent. Proficient in Microsoft Office. Experience with Ministry Platform database is advantageous, but not required. PCPC membership required. This is a regular full-time (40 hours a week) exempt position (not eligible for overtime).
