Job Overview

The Director of Children's Ministry is to serve Providence Baptist Church by partnering with parents to help equip children (birth-5 th ) to become fruit bearing disciples of Jesus Christ. by leading/facilitating our weekly children's (birth-5th ) discipleship, programming, events, and care.

Skills Needed 1. Organizational skills to schedule volunteers, events, teaching, training, safety, database management, background checks, follow up and assimilation 2. Verbal and written communication skills for individual and group teaching, training, vision casting, ministry direction, and promotion. 3. Training skills for the development of children ministry leadership and ministry teams. 4. Mobilization skills to involve trained and qualified leaders and volunteers in the Children's Ministry. 6. Motivational skills to inspire others to serve with vision, energy, and excellence. 7. Relational skills to engage and encourage children, parents, and volunteers. 8. Team skills to work with the church leadership, staff, and ministry team volunteers.

Responsibilities

1. Develop the strategy/ scope and sequence for children's ministry while maintaining theological integrity and the cultural distinctives of Providence. 2. Teach and coordinate teaching to accomplish the goals of the Children's Ministry. 3. Become a subject matter expert in child protection and consistently implement a healthy protection policy. 4. Oversee scheduling, training, and care of volunteers, including regular feedback, expressions of appreciation, and continual updates on best practices. 5. Oversee the procurement and disbursal of all needed supplies, materials, curriculum, games, props and other things needed for effective discipleship. 6. Manage budget forecasts and expenses. 7. Recruit, train, onboard, schedule and manage all volunteers. 8. Continually assess needs and flow of all points of Children's Ministry and make adjustments where appropriate to best serve the purpose of the church. 9. Oversee communications related to the worship ministry including print and electronic media. 10. Serve under the direction and accountability of the elders. Report directly to the Lead Pastor.
