Job Summary:The Director of Children's Ministry is responsible for encouraging the spiritual growth of the children God has placed within our church to become fully functioning followers of Jesus Christ. We believe that this is accomplished by partnering with parents in the discipleship of their children. The candidate for this ministry will be gifted by being able to minister to children in every stage of growth from pre-k to 5th grade. This will include the planning and implementation of weekly children's services as well as special family events and programs designed to keep children engaged more than one day per week. Ministry Purpose: To proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ, to teach the truth and inerrancy of the Bible, to promote the building of kid's Christian worldview, and to implement planning the administrative aspects of the Children's Ministry and services to the church and community. Service Relationships: The Director of Children's Ministry reports to the Senior Pastor Job Type: Part time position based on 20-25 hours per week Compensation: Competitive annual salary based upon education and experience Primary Responsibilities:

Leadership

• Develop and execute vision and mission for children's ministry
• Create ministry goals that are measurable
• Create and implement an overall child evangelism and discipleship strategy for the church
• Provide leadership for the Riverwind Kids Ministry team
• Promote children experiencing personal worship and praise through weekly teaching and church activities
• Provide member care with the Children's Ministry family (children and parents of children) and coordinate the training of others to do likewise
• Provide opportunities for members of the children's ministry family to be directly involved in missions and ministry – both locally and outside the community
• Coordinate the enlisting, training and motivating of adults to serve in children's ministry
• Develop and coordinate future ministry strategies such as (Wednesday night kids class, Next Level kids class, "Homeschool Hangout"
• Share the gospel with lost children and lost parents on an ongoing basis, both individually and cooperatively
• Provide weekly ministry reports to Senior Pastor

Administrative

• Coordinate the weekly RWKid's services
• Select (under the advice of the Elders) and implement the overall children's curriculum plan for the church for a balanced comprehensive Christian education to children
• Coordinate and implement an annual Children's Ministry budget proposal, and administer that budget as approved by the Elders/Church Members
• Coordinate and oversee children and family events aimed at both ministering to church membership as well as those in the surrounding community
• Implement and maintain communication with parents, volunteers and the larger community through various forms of media (e.g. social media, email, website, etc.)

Strengths and Skillset:

• Exhibits a personal and growing relationship with God and a teachable spirit
• A love and passion for young people, evangelism and outreachFormal theological training from a credible theological institution preferred
• 1-2 years experience in a lead teaching role preferred
• Experience in leading and developing healthy ministry
• Excellent relational skills to communicate with children and parents
• Self-motivated in networking and relationship building
• Team player and willing to assist other ministry leaders/staff when needed
• A member of the Riverwind Church or willing and able to become a member
