Director of Communications
Job Purpose
The Director of Communications at First Baptist Church Pensacola will champion the communication of our mission, vision, and values, ensuring that our community and the broader metro area hear, live, and share the story of Jesus. This role will oversee all aspects of communication, including but not limited to, social media, internal and external communications, website management, event promotion, and the creation of engaging content across print and digital platforms. The Director will also lead the technical director and publications coordinator, fostering their growth as servant leaders, while developing a volunteer team to support communications initiatives. Responsibilities
- Mission Alignment: Champion the communication of First Baptist Church of Pensacola's mission, vision, and values. Our mission is: We glorify the Father by following the Holy Spirit and sharing the story of Jesus.
- Brand Management: Create and manage the branding and style guidelines of the church and ensure communications is keeping within guidelines.
- Social Media Management: Develop and implement strong storying strategies to grow our social media presence and engagement.
- Content Creation: Create compelling content for print and digital media, ensuring alignment with brand guidelines and style.
- Internal and External Communication: Oversee all internal and external communications to effectively share the story of First Baptist Church of Pensacola.
- Website Management: Maintain and enhance the church's website. Ensuring it serves as a connection point for guests and members, making the user experience easy and frictionless while reflecting the mission and vision of First Baptist Church of Pensacola.
- Event Promotion: Strategize and execute promotional campaigns for church events to maximize participation, impact, and engagement.
- Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and grow the Technical Director and Publications Coordinator, fostering a culture of collaboration and creativity.
- Volunteer Development: Recruit, develop, and lead a team of volunteers to assist with various communications tasks and projects.
- Strategic Planning: Develop and implement a consistent communication strategy and processes that enhance current communication pathways and effectively shares the story of First Baptist Church Pensacola to the metro area and beyond.
- Broadcast and Livestream: Champion the online and television delivery of our midweek, Sunday gatherings, and special events in the life of the church.
- Complete other responsibilities as assigned by the Associate Pastor of Administration.
