Director of Connection
Job Overview
The Director of Connection is one of the first faces people encounter at Coram Deo Church. This role is designed as a Deacon role with the potential to grow into a Pastor/Elder role over time, so we are seeking a man who is called and qualified for long-term pastoral ministry in the local church. The ideal candidate for this position is a confident, extraverted, engaging leader who enjoys meeting new people and helping them connect to Jesus, his gospel, and his church. We're looking for someone with a personal concern for making disciples; someone who's conscientious enough to make sure no one falls through the cracks; someone who can build effective processes to keep things organized without making people feel like they're at the DMV. This role combines relational aptitude with organizational skill; applicants should show a proven track record in both areas.
Responsibilities:
- Broadly speaking: oversee the connection & assimilation of new people into Coram Deo Church, from the first Sunday someone shows up until they are on the pathway to discipleship and church membership
- Be present to meet, greet, & connect with new people on Sunday mornings
- Follow up in-person to establish deeper connections with newcomers (4-6 coffee or lunch meetings each week)
- Engage in personal evangelism and discipleship
- Host a Connect Dinner once every 2-3 months (meets in a home near the church, invites new people to have dinner with us and hear more about the church)
- Coordinate and Lead "Intro Gospel community" (an 8-week small group experience for new people that happens 3x to 4x each year)
- Oversee baptism process & new member process
- Help to connect new people into existing Gospel Communities
- Recruit, develop, and oversee volunteers and leaders
- Help support and fulfill the mission, vision, core values, and goals of Coram Deo Church
- Perform any other duties assigned by supervisor
Expectations and Compensation:
- 40-50 hours per week
- Salary Group D1: $62k-81k (based on qualifications & experience)

- Process-Specific Metrics: 70% Assimilation rate (people who attend GC once -> end up sticking in a gospel community)
Essential knowledge, experience, education, or ability:
- Bachelor's Degree or higher
- Experience in Christian ministry, preferably in the local church (3 years or more)
- Warm, relatable, hospitable personal presence

- By the achieving of job-specific metrics (by my supervisor)
- By my presence and competence as a leader (by my supervisor)
- On my development of other leaders (by my supervisor)
