Director of Family & Student Ministries
Location: Bedrock Church Forest
Hours: 40 hours per week
Compensation: $45,000+ annually
Reports To: Chris Dowd, Supervising Elder
Position Overview
We're looking for a relational, organized, and ministry-minded individual to serve as our Student Ministries Director—someone who thrives in a collaborative environment and has a heart for helping middle and high school students and their families be rooted and growing together in Christ. The ideal candidate will be a disciple-maker who can lead students to encounter the glory of God, experience life together, engage their world, and expand the kingdom, while also supporting parents as the primary spiritual leaders in the home.
Key Responsibilities
Encounter the Glory of God:
Participate in Worship on Sunday mornings.Interact with, equip, and encourage students and their parents regularly.Connect students and parents with ministry opportunities through the Connect Table and Church Center app.Organize and lead one annual retreat to foster deeper spiritual development.Provide resources, workshops, and events that strengthen family discipleship.Experience Life Together:
Develop and lead Life Groups for middle and high school students.Create authentic community environments where students feel known, loved, and discipled.Foster partnerships between the church and families to encourage faith development at home.Engage Our World:
Model and train students in personal and corporate evangelism.Organize quarterly service projects for students to engage the Forest community. Expand the Kingdom:
Organize and lead one mission trip annually to expose students to global and local missions. service projects for students to engage the Forest community.
Expectations
Must be a committed member of Bedrock Church Forest in good standing. Must be aligned with the culture and beliefs of Bedrock Church, actively contributing to the overall mission. Must be a faithful tither. Proactive in the development and execution of ministry responsibilities. Growing in personal relationship with God and engaging others with the gospel.Attend staff meetings as needed to stay aligned with team priorities. Collaborate with children's ministry, worship, and other departments to provide continuity and integration. Participate in church-wide events, worship services, and leadership development initiatives. Oversee Kid's Rock (K-5) and Upstream (College) ministries including: Supervise budget to ensure good stewardship. Answer questions/troubleshootingCheck in regularly to provide support and encouragement.Develop leaders/interns.Develop/oversee curriculum for K-5 through College.Ensure that all ministry environments comply with church safety policies and child protection protocols. Skills & Qualifications
Strong relational and communication skills with church leadership, staff, students, and parents. Ability to teach and disciple middle and high school students. Experience in leading small groups and organizing events. Ability to recruit, train, and lead volunteers and student leaders with clear expectations and ongoing development. Ability to manage and propose an annual ministry budget, including submitting proposals for one-time expenditures exceeding $1,000.Bachelor's Degree required. Seminary/Bible School education preferred.
