Director of Ministry Training

Summary of Position

Responsible for casting vision, providing leadership, and implementing the Summit Institute strategies. As the Institute director, you are expected to develop and expand a pipeline for developing and discipling global leaders.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Ability to effectively communicate vision.
  • Experience in developing and implementing strategies to execute the vision.
  • Proven ability to effectively shepherd and coach high-capacity leaders.
  • Ability to discern individuals' strengths/weaknesses and gifts/skills; ability to shepherd individuals through questions of calling.
  • Ability to cooperate with and facilitate Summit's ministry at the central and campus levels.
  • Ability to work with outside ministries and agencies.
  • Experience in pastoral ministry and leadership development.
  • A member of the Summit Church or willing & able to become a member.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and lead strategies to achieve Summit's goal of planting 1000 churches.
  • Advance the vision and culture of sending to The Summit Institute (TSI) students and mentors.
  • Identify and develop students for future global ministries.
  • Personally mentor and disciple a selected number of students.
  • Personally mentor and disciple a selected number of mentors.
  • Counsel and give direction to mentors about development and discipleship.
  • Oversee coaching and supervising of Summit church mentors.
  • Cast vision for and mobilize people within Summit church towards future ministry.
  • Coordinate and support Summit Campuses.
  • Consistently create new pipelines to develop future church leadership.
  • Oversee the training scope and sequence of the TSI students and mentors.
  • Teach on a variety of topics within the TSI Scope and Sequence.
  • Participate in all TSI training and events.
  • Recruitment of students
    • Visiting colleges, seminaries, and Summit campuses.
    • Initial interviews of prospective students.
    • Communication with students through the process.
    • Assessment of students as to their fit with TSI and Summit ministries.
    • Placement of new students within Summit ministries.
  • Develop relationships with churches, seminaries, colleges, and other development ministries.
  • Help to create and oversee the TSI budget.
  • Oversee and develop the TSI Team, including:
    • One-on-one in bi-weekly meetings
    • Weekly staff meetings
    • Quarterly offsite planning meetings
    • Yearly vision retreats
