Director of Missions
Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Missions Director to coordinate our organizational missions efforts locally, nationally, and internationally. The Missions Director will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing all aspects of our missions program while ensuring alignment with our organizational beliefs, values, and commitments.
Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Strategic Direction: Collaborate with Leadership Team in executing comprehensive missions strategy aligned with the organization's mission and vision.
- Program Management: Oversee all missions programs, including pastors gatherings, conferences, short-term and long-term missions trips, partnerships with local and international organizations, and disaster relief efforts.
- Team Leadership: Recruit, train, and manage missions staff and volunteers. Provide leadership, guidance, and support to ensure effective teamwork and achievement of objectives.
- Partnership Development: Cultivate new and maintain existing relationships with mission partners, including churches, nonprofits, and community organizations. Identify opportunities for collaboration and joint initiatives.
- Budget Management: Manage the missions budget, ensuring resources are allocated efficiently and effectively. Monitor expenses and financial reporting related to missions activities.
- Communication and Promotion: Promote missions opportunities within the organization and to external stakeholders. Develop marketing materials, newsletters, and presentations to raise awareness and support for missions efforts. Support website and social media activities.
- Risk Management: Assess and mitigate risks associated with missions activities, ensuring compliance with legal, safety, and ethical standards.
- Evaluation and Reporting: Monitor and evaluate the impact of missions programs. Prepare reports and presentations for stakeholders, highlighting achievements, challenges, and recommendations for improvement.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (theology, international relations, nonprofit management, etc.). Master's degree welcomed.
- Proven experience in missions work, including program management and leadership roles.
- Strong organizational and planning skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Commitment to the organization's mission and values, with a passion for global outreach and social justice.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with CRM software (e.g., Salesforce) preferred.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
