$15,000-$25,000 based on hourly commitment and experience

The role of director of music and creative arts serves primarily to lead the musical worship for the Sunday morning services at North Park Community Church. This includes scheduling and coordinating the volunteers who serve in the band and on the tech team. Additionally, it involves leading rehearsals, coaching volunteers, assisting with A/V needs, and collaborating with the pastoral team to determine setlists. Beyond the execution of leading the musical worship, this role will serve to collaborate with the pastoral team to plan, design, and execute additional creative elements and opportunities in the church. The position will be designed around the hourly commitment of the individual we hire.

Job Description

Primary Duties

• Lead and oversee all areas of the musical worship department
• Develop worship services at least 2 weeks out, including the scheduling of music and volunteers
• Serve the musical worship department by being prepared and communicating regularly and clearly with band and tech teams
• Maintain and keep music and tech equipment up-to-date
• Recruit new volunteers, integrate them into the musical worship team, develop their skills, and encourage them spiritually
• Communicate and collaborate with the pastoral team
• Lead the congregation to sing well through incorporating Scripture readings, prayers, explanation of new songs, transitions, etc., into the music portion of the worship service
