Director of Operations – The Orchard Church Position Overview The Director of Operations is a full-time management position reporting to the Executive Pastor. This role is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day activities of The Orchard Church, ensuring that the organization is managed and performing efficiently and effectively. The ideal candidate will have a strong personal faith commitment and a calling to ministry, approaching their work with excellence as a form of worship.

Key Responsibilities Work closely with executive leadership (Lead Pastor and Executive Pastor) to strategize, develop, and execute long-term operational plans Lead and manage a team focused on church operations Maintain property and physical assets in a database for operational effectiveness Oversee staff for operational and procedural adherence for events, services, trips, and daily operations Set strategic goals for operational efficiency and increased productivity Develop and document operational procedures, systems, and processes Analyze current operational processes and performance, recommending improvement solutions Build strategic relationships with community members, leaders, and businesses to further the church's ministry Supervisory Responsibilities Participate in hiring and training administrative staff alongside the Executive Pastor Oversee staff in facilities and administrative roles according to the organizational chart Organize and oversee work schedules for operational ministries Conduct timely and constructive performance evaluations Other Duties & Responsibilities Provide fiscal oversight including:Distribution of yearly donor statements Ensuring accuracy of financial forms Backup for Executive Pastor with accountant/bookkeeper processes Operations budget management and forecasting Recruit, mobilize, and utilize office volunteers Establish metrics and standards to evaluate church efficiency and effectiveness Ensure work environments are adequate and safe Communicate new directives, policies, or procedures to staff Work with the team to improve guest and church member experiences through policy changes Qualifications Active and growing personal relationship with God Preferred Master's degree in Business Administration or related field 10+ years of leadership, training, and business experience (maintenance understanding a plus) Ministry experience preferred Evidence of moral character and lifestyle consistent with The Orchard Church Constitution, Bylaws, and Statement of Faith Computer proficiency in Google Suite, Microsoft Office, Planning Center preferred Experience with online database management preferred Understanding and support of the Southern Baptist denomination Knowledge & Skills Thorough understanding of business practices, theories, and policies Knowledge of church budgeting and financial operations Working knowledge of office equipment Superior verbal and written communication skills Excellent interpersonal and diplomatic abilities Strong analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving capabilities Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Flexibility and effective time management skills Strong work ethic Personal Attributes Service-oriented Takes initiative and is assertive High energy and enthusiasm Sensitivity to others Personal integrity Working Conditions Normal office environment Serving diverse populations in a caring atmosphere Some activities or events may be outside or off campus Physical & Mental Requirements Light lifting, pushing, pulling Office chair sitting for extended periods Ability to carry/roll small to medium boxes and navigate stairwells Capability to manage multiple demands on time and energy Good judgment and discretionary skills Professional demeanor and organizational abilities
