Part-time Director Children's Ministries Page 1Central Baptist, Oak Ridge, TNJob Description:Part-time Director of Preschool and Children's MinistriesPrinciple Function:The primary function of the Director of Children's Ministries is to support the vision and mission of CBC to Explore, Engage, Equip and Empower people with the Gospel of Jesus Christ by planning, coordinating, overseeing, and implementing a comprehensive ministry to children birth through elementary under the support of the senior leadership of the church.Qualifications for the Position:1.Must have experienced salvation and a call to God's ministry2.Must be an active member of Central (or must join upon assuming the position)3.It is preferred that the candidate have experience in leading a variety of programs for preschool and elementary aged children4.Must demonstrate the ability to plan organize, train, and supervise program and event leaders5.Must be able to relate to the parents or guardians of the children, and demonstrate a passion for ministering to children6.Preferred associate or bachelor's degree in a related field, (early childhood or elementary education, child development, children's ministry, Christian education, etc.)7.Must support and uphold the Baptist Faith and Message 2000Duties and Responsibilities1.Planning and executing ministry and outreach events, including parent's night out, children's camp, day trips and event, as well as VBS and other seasonal events, while creating environments that facilitate learning and spiritual growth, coordinating space arrangements as needed2.Selecting and organizing age-appropriate curriculum for large and small groups, including worship experiences and discipleship opportunities on Sundays, Wednesdays, and other times as requested3.Recruiting, training, equipping, and leading teams of volunteers4.Creating and overseeing policies and procedures to ensure a safe environment for children, including monitoring adherence to Child Protection policies5.Preparing and administering the Children's Ministries budget. Responsible for following financial procedures of the church, including procuring needed supplies, materials, and equipment6.Building relationships with children and parents, and helping families grow in their relationships with God and each other.7.Communicating a clear vision for ministry to preschool and elementary children, and providing regular evaluations and feedback to team members8.Attending staff meetings9.Ensuring all children's programs and events are included on the Church calendar10.Performing other duties as assigned by the Senior PastorAppointment:1.Recommended by Personnel Committee and/or ad hoc committee, as well as by Senior PastorPart-time Director Children's Ministries Page 12.Approved by Central Baptist Church congregation3.Reports to the Senior Pastor
