Job Overview

The Director of Worship and Communications provide spiritual, musical, and technical leadership to the areas of worship and production. This position requires a strong alignment with the vision and direction of Redemption Church. The successful candidate must have a clear understanding of our values and priorities and the ability to steward them through their leadership role. Success in this role looks like training, equipping and discipling leaders and team members, as well as maintaining a standard of excellence in the quality and content of the worship service and other ministry responsibilities.

Preferred Education and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in music, worship, theology, or a related field preferred.
• 5-10 years of experience in vocational worship ministry leadership.
• Strong musical proficiency and experience leading worship teams.

Essential Qualifications

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Strong platform leadership and musical ability.
• Competent knowledge of industry standard AVL equipment and technology.
• Working knowledge of industry related softwares such as Planning Centre, MultiTracks, Ableton, Live-streaming, and ProPresenter.

• You will be required to care for, minister to, and pray with the volunteers within the ministries that you work in, as well as the congregation members that you encounter.

Pay & Compensation

• Full-time salaried position
• Additional health benefits provided (supplemental insurance, HSA, etc)
• Matched retirement contributions available
• Pay range from $60-90K CAD, dependent on applicants experience and abilities.

Job Description

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

Worship Ministry (Oversee the entire music ministry of the church)

• Identify, recruit and interview/audition team members
• Disciple and train team both spiritually and musically
• Implementation of new songs
• Develop and implement serving schedule
• Schedule and direct weekly and special rehearsals maintain instruments and arrange for tuning and upkeep
• Plan and direct special services (ie. Christmas Eve, Good Friday, etc.)
• Prepare annual worship ministry plan/budget in conjunction with Lead Pastor and submit for approval by the Elders
• Oversee budget and expenditures of worship ministry
• Ensure that Redemption is on the forefront of technical and musical excellence in a way that aligns with our mission and vision.

Sunday Worship Service

• Develop song sets and plan/organize all elements of the service in coordination with pastoral staff.
• Keeping a detailed song list including dates songs were used
• Organize, maintain and update the music library
• Ensure selections tie into preaching theme in collaboration with Lead Pastor
• Create and distribute service plans
• Utilize Planning Center technologies effectively
• Oversee A/V Team volunteers

Spiritual Leadership

• Foster a culture of worship that is one of spirit and truth.
• Foster an increasingly healthy team culture for worship ministry volunteers.
• Provide care to worship and production team members, fostering a supportive and encouraging community.

Communications

• Creative development of A/V resources (ie. video projects, social media, etc.)
• Oversee website updates and info
• Oversee graphic and design projects
• Coordinate Sunday morning announcements (slides and information)
• Oversee, schedule, and lead all A/V volunteers

Prayer Gatherings & Culture

• Model an exemplary commitment to the prayer culture of Redemption Church through consistent attendance at all-church prayer gatherings.
• Provide worship leadership at all-church prayer gatherings.
• Work with Lead Pastor to regularly implement intentional, prayer segments into the Sunday worship service.
