Valwood Park Baptist Church is looking for its next Director of Worship. The perfect candidate will passionately lead the congregation in our weekly gatherings, develop the volunteer team, and pursue excellence in all disciplines. We are searching for someone who is gospel-centered, Spirit-led, and theologically-minded to work with our lead pastor and the rest of the staff to usher Valwood Park into her next chapter of ministry.

About The Church

Valwood Park Baptist Church was established in Farmers Branch, TX in 1956. In that time, the neighborhood has radically changed, putting the church in what is now the heart of West Dallas. Roughly 1.2 million people from diverse backgrounds live within a 20 minute driving radius. After years of protracted decline, we hired our new lead pastor in January 2025 and we are entering an exciting season of intentional revitalization. The church is eager to embark on this next chapter. As the Director of Worship, you will play a vital and exciting part of it by bringing new vibrancy and intentionality to our weekly gatherings.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

• Provide oversight and direction for the worship ministry at Valwood Park.
• Develop and refine the liturgy of our gatherings.
• Recruit, develop, and shepherd a team of faithful volunteers.
• Manage, tune, and improve our production systems.
• Coordinate with the Lead Pastor and staff to plan the Sunday morning gatherings.
• Select songs and arrangements for each week and manage volunteer assignments.
• Be a faithful member of the Valwood Park family.
• Lead with character, integrity, humility, and a servant's heart.
• Position Details: 10 hours/week with hybrid schedule, salaried, paid bi-monthly.

Qualifications

• Must have a passion for Christ and the local church.
• Possess excellent musical skills and proficiency.
• Have a working knowledge of audio, video, and lighting systems.
• Demonstrate excellent social skills and leadership ability.
• Agree with Valwood Park's statement of faith and become a member of the church.
• At least some college and/or seminary experience is preferred.
