Director of Youth Ministry(MS+HS)
Job Overview
The Director of Youth Ministry will provide leadership for the volunteer coordination and equipping, parent connection and equipping, and student engagement and discipleship ministries of Redeemer Christian Church. The goal of this role is to cultivate a Christ–centered youth ministry that effectively disciples students, equips leaders, and strengthens families, all to the glory of Jesus Christ.
Job Description
1. Volunteer Coordination & Equipping
- Recruit, train, and equip volunteers to lead and serve in Redeemer Youth.
- Develop a leadership pipeline to train up new ministry leaders.
- Provide ongoing development, encouragement, and coaching to volunteers.
- Oversee volunteer scheduling, communication, and support to ensure a strong team culture.
- Ensure that all youth ministry volunteers meet church safety and background check requirements.
2. Parent Connection & Equipping
- Serve as a primary connection point between parents and the youth ministry.
- Provide discipleship and training opportunities for parents, equipping them to lead their children spiritually.
- Communicate regularly with parents about youth ministry events, teaching content, and student spiritual growth.
- Organize parent meetings, workshops, and resources to support family discipleship.
3. Student Engagement & Discipleship
- Lead weekly student gatherings, small groups, and discipleship programs.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive discipleship strategy for middle and high school students.
- Identify and train student leaders to take an active role in Redeemer Youth.
- Provide pastoral care, mentorship, and biblical counseling to students.
- Ensure that all youth ministry programs and events are rooted in Scripture and gospel–centered.
4. Teaching & Preaching
- Preach regularly for Redeemer Youth and, as needed, in the larger church context.
- Develop an annual teaching curriculum for youth ministry.
- Train residents and lay leaders to develop their preaching and teaching skills.
5. Community Groups & Small Groups
- Organize and oversee student community groups and their leaders.
- Recruit, train, and equip community group coaches to disciple students.
- Prepare and provide teaching content for youth community groups.
6. Missions & Outreach
- Cast a vision for missions engagement at the local, national, and international level.
- Organize and provide mission opportunities for students to serve.
7. General and Pastoral Care
- Participate in church–wide pastoral care and counseling as needed.
- Attend and contribute to general staff meetings and leadership development.
- Engage in other responsibilities as delegated by the Executive Pastor.
Schedule & Expectations
- Regular office hours: Monday–Thursday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM.
- Additional work time includes Sunday mornings, Wednesday nights, special events, and board meetings.
- Flexibility required for mission trips, retreats, and special youth events.
- Vacation and sick days coordinated with the Executive Pastor.
Evaluation & Accountability
- Reports directly to the Lead Pastor with oversight from the Executive Pastor.
- Will receive ongoing feedback and an annual performance evaluation.
- Expected to maintain high standards of leadership, effectiveness, and faithfulness in ministry.
