Job Overview

The Director of Worship at Jubilee Christian Church is responsible for fostering an authentic and engaging worship environment for both the worship team and the congregation. This key leadership role requires a deep passion for worship and the ability to facilitate an atmosphere that welcomes spontaneous moments inspired by the Holy Spirit. Guided by a Word & Spirit philosophy, the Director blends a strong commitment to biblical truth with a receptiveness to the Spirit's guidance. The leader is expected to model excellence, encourage collaboration, and cultivate a supportive and nurturing atmosphere within the worship ministry.

Job Description

Success Metrics

  • Demonstrates an increase in volunteer retention within the worship team.
  • Consistently delivers worship plans and service outlines on time, meeting the deadlines set by church leadership.
  • Promotes growth in team engagement and participation, as evidenced by attendance at rehearsals and special events.

Essential Responsibilities:

Worship Leadership

  • Leads worship during weekend services and special gatherings.
  • Ensures the theological accuracy of all songs and worship components.
  • Designs worship experiences that are effective for both in-person and livestream audiences.
  • Models' authenticity and sensitivity to the Holy Spirit while facilitating worship.

Team Development

  • Recruits, auditions, trains, and mentors worship team volunteers.
  • Provides coaching and regular feedback for team members.
  • Fosters a culture characterized by unity, humility, and musical excellence.
  • Identifies and develops emerging leaders from within and outside the ministry.

Planning and Execution

  • Collaborates with the Senior Pastor to develop weekly worship plans and service flow.
  • Leads rehearsals and pre-service run-throughs with clear communication and thorough preparation.
  • Manage scheduling, communication, and allocation of resources for the worship ministry.
  • Supports major worship projects and actively participates in church-wide initiatives.

Required Experience and Competencies

  • Minimum of two years of worship-leading experience in a local church setting.
  • Strong vocal leadership with proficiency in piano or guitar.
  • Excellent communication and team-building skills.
  • Solid understanding of worship theology and service planning.
  • Proven ability to build and sustain volunteer teams.
