The Discipleship Minister Job Description:

POSITION Summary: Discipleship Minister's primary focus will be to ensure people are connected, cared for, and growing in their walk with Jesus. One will also be charged with leading and overseeing all key discipleship initiatives of the ministry, including Life groups, Missions and Prayer. This is in addition to engaging in activities that will help partners (members) grow and mature in their faith. The Discipleship Minister will also be responsible for all guest services, and other activities that ensure all people have a great first impression at V2L Ministries.

What one will do: • Oversee Life Group Ministry, Mission and Prayer Ministry. • Build a team of leaders that are equipped to shepherd the hearts of people and mobilize the ministry to be on mission with Jesus to chase after the one. • Oversee Discipleship Classes (Right Now Media & Life Group's). • Develop spiritual growth classes that are relevant to the needs of the congregation. • Oversee Connections/First Impressions Team ensuring all visitors are welcomed with a personal touch. • Develop a clear path for people to get connected, be cared for, and equipped to use their gifts to serve Christ. • Develop and implement a comprehensive discipleship/spiritual formation system outside of Sunday. • Oversee the welcome and assimilation process, moving guests and new believers through their initial ministry experiences and introductory classes to volunteer engagement, partnership, and ministry leadership. • Recruit, train, and deploy volunteer leaders needed to lead Life groups and other Discipleship/Mission initiatives. • Develop a strategy to effectively communicate the importance of discipleship, prayer and missions to the ministry. • Seek Opportunities to engage in community prayer events. • Oversee all Prayer events such as Community Prayer Line, Back to School etc. Experience you have: • Leadership/Management experience working in a ministerial setting. • History of building strong ministry teams. • Aligns with the vision, values, and doctrinal statement of Vital 2 Life Ministries • Master's Degree. • Pursue Temperament Therapy Certification. • 3+ years' experience in full time ministry (Preferably). • Theologically sound, exhibiting spiritual maturity. • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. • Adept in dealing with crisis situations. • Self-starter, organized and able to give direction to various teams. • Ability to work with Microsoft Word and Excel. • Comfortable using and navigating multiple Social Media Outlets. Skills you have: • Gift of evangelism and sharing the gospel. • Commit to prayer and intercession. • Self-motivated, teachable, and an eagerness to work with other teams. • Significant collaboration skills with other teams & people. • A self-reliant, self-starter, with the ability to innovate. • Shepherding – Relational, outgoing, and good with people. Able to empathize with hurting people and provide a comforting presence. Strong capacity to remember faces and names. • Discipleship – Able to personally disciple individuals toward spiritual maturity. Has a strong ability to help people identify areas for growth and encourage them to move in that direction. • Teaching & Communication – Demonstrated capacity to inspire, instruct, and encourage through effective communication in various settings. Able to communicate and work within a complex organizational structure with multiple layers of input. • Administration – Ability to plan, organize, implement, and refine ministry programming and systems. Self-motivated and able to lead tasks or projects to completion. Competent at multitasking, time management, and prioritizing.

The Discipleship Minister will be evaluated by the Pastor in accordance with the statement of duties and responsibilities outlined above. The performance of the Discipleship Minister will be reviewed during the first ninety days, six months twelve months, and on a yearly basis thereafter
