Hope for the Heart is a non-profit Christian ministry. The mission is to equip people with biblical principles to renew lives, restore families, revitalize churches and reproduce influencers – worldwide. To accomplish this mission Hope for Heart produce radio broadcasts, Bible-based resources, provide training on peer-to-peer biblical counseling, discipleship and leadership development.  

About the Position

Hope for the Heart is seeking a highly detailed and skilled Editor/Writer to join the Creative Services team. The Editor/Writer will work within the Creative Services department to produce excellent content aligned to the objectives of Hope for the Heart and its Strategic Initiatives function. Working alongside organizational leadership, the Editor/Writer will work on a variety of written content and published material, including the Keys for Living series. This role requires concentrated attention to detail and will contribute to the entire publishing process, including writing, editing, and proofreading, of both brand-new books and updates to published works. 

Responsibilities 

Editing / Proofreading

· Assist with proofreading as part of the editing process, across all aspects of the organization

· Provide editing for various ministry projects as assigned

· Work with internal ministry teams to ensure consistent use of grammar and style guidelines

· Make editorial decisions based on clarity, relevance, and theological perspectives

· Evaluate past ministry products for future refurbishment

· Research subject matter to ensure accuracy and relevance

· Review video and audio content for transcripts

Writing

· Provide creative and technical writing and direction for the development and continuity of digital and traditional publishing projects

· Organize thoughts and articulate content in a clear, succinct way that is consistent with establish style and tone

· Creatively express biblical principles and effective promotional copy

· Generate content for specific audiences

· Collaborate with other team members on assigned projects

· Develop manual to accompany video content

· Provide additional writing as requested

· Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, English, Creative Writing, or related field

· 3+ years of proven, professional writing experience

· Exceptional written and oral communication

· Thorough knowledge of the English language, including an acute understanding of grammar, style, and composition

· Accurate, organized, and detail-oriented with ability to meet deadlines

· Experience in communications, publishing, or creative development setting preferred

· Ability to research credible, reliable sources and work independently

· Expert in Microsoft Suite, proficient in Adobe InDesign
