Elementary Children’s Director
Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate, organized, and relational leader to serve as the Elementary Children's Director at FBCnl. This person will oversee ministry to children in kindergarten through 6th grade by directly leading and equipping a team of volunteers. The result of this ministry will be children growing to know and love Jesus as they are discipled in a safe, engaging, and gospel-centered environment.
The right candidate will thrive in building teams, casting vision for children's discipleship, and creating environments where volunteers are equipped and supported to share Jesus effectively with kids.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Oversight

- Provide vision, leadership, and oversight for all K–6th grade ministry environments:
- Sunday morning Groups hour (9:15–10:15 am)
- Sunday morning large group/small group hour (10:30 am–12:00 pm)
- Midweek large group/small group (school year, Wednesday evenings)
- Recruit, train, and support volunteer leaders and teams.
- Ensure environments are safe, welcoming, and gospel-centered.
- Provide vision, leadership, and oversight for all K–6th grade ministry environments:
Discipleship & Volunteer Development

- Oversee and select age-appropriate curriculum and discipleship strategies.
- Equip volunteers to teach and lead small groups effectively.
- Partner with parents to support discipleship in the home.
Administration & Communication

- Create and maintain schedules for volunteers and classrooms.
- Oversee ministry planning, supplies, and logistics.
- Communicate clearly with families, volunteers, and staff.
Event Leadership

- Lead and organize special events:
- Vacation Bible School (VBS)
- Seasonal family events
- Children's ministry outreach and service projects
- Support and participate in camps and other children's discipleship events.

Qualifications

- A clear testimony of faith in Jesus Christ and a growing walk with Him.
- Passion for discipling children and partnering with families.
- Strong organizational and administrative skills.
- Ability to recruit, equip, and lead volunteers.
- Experience in children's ministry leadership preferred.
- Ability to teach and communicate biblical truth in engaging, age-appropriate ways.
- Align with the mission, values, and statement of faith of FBCnl.
