Position Overview

New Life Church (NLC) is seeking a dynamic and dedicated English Ministry (EM) Pastor to lead and shepherd young adults and adults/families within our church community. The ideal candidate will have a deep passion for ministering to young adults in their 20s to adults with families, providing spiritual guidance, teaching, and fostering a sense of belonging within a multicultural and multi-generational context. Additionally, the EM Pastor will collaborate closely with the Youth Pastor, exemplifying a spirit of teamwork and fostering unity in Christ. 

Congregation Profile

The EM congregation consists of approximately 25-30 young adults in their 20s and 20-25 adults. Additionally, our Sunday worship sees a gathering of about 40-50 youths who come together to worship the LORD.

Job Description

Responsibilities

• Overseeing the college to adults
• Preaching during Sunday worship services on rotation

• Conduct or assist on Sunday services according to giftings
• Lead and coordinate Friday Bible studies, Sunday Bible studies, prayer meetings, and discipleship groups
• Participate in weekly staff meetings

• Organize and oversee regular fellowship events, retreats, and outings to foster a sense of belonging and connection within the congregation 

• Lead annual mission/outreach trips
• Equip and empower congregation members to effectively share their faith with others in their community

• Collaborate with other ministry leaders to create opportunities for intergenerational and intercultural interactions within the church

Qualifications

• Exemplifies a life and character that aligns with the Gospel, reflecting an above-reproach standard (1 Timothy 3:2; Titus 1:6-9)
• Demonstrates a blend of character, competence and a clear calling for ministry
• Possesses the ability to collaborate effectively with fellow ministry leaders and a willingness to adhere to the church’s vision, by-laws, and the Southern Baptist Convention statement of faith
• Holds a minimum of a M. Div degree from an accredited seminary
• Brings at least 4 years of full-time pastoral ministry experience
• Displays a strong compatibility with the pastoral staff and the prevailing culture of NLC
• Ordination is preferred
• Fluent in English, with a desirable level of proficiency in Korean, though it is not mandatory

Compensations

• Starting salary range of $70,000 (contingent on factors such as experience, ordination, life circumstances, and other relevant considerations)
• Medical insurance, conference stipend, vacation stipend
• Paid time off of 10 days (1 Sunday included)
