Job Overview

1. Proclaim the Word of God with expository preaching in a regular pulpit ministry and Sunday School.
2. Oversee English congregation including adults and youth. Provide direction for the English congregation.
3. Provide leadership and vision for the English congregation. Direct plans for ministry and church growth; develop and fine-tune the church structure based on the Team philosophy of ministry.
4. Serve under the church Elder’s Board and serve together with Mandarin and Cantonese congregations.
5. Participate in evangelism efforts through preaching and giving invitations during worship services, revival, visitation, and other outreach efforts.
6. Motivate, equip, and nurture the people of the church through example, preaching and teaching God’s Word and spiritual counseling.
7. Spend significant time in prayer and Bible study.
8. Facilitate the contact/visitation of hospitalized or grieving church members.
9. Officiate at weddings and funerals.
10. Oversee church discipline and manage conflicts in the church. Seek to reconcile relationships and promote unity within the church.
11. To manage his money with integrity so as not to bring reproach upon the church.
12. The Minister, when possible, shall moderate all business meetings of the church.
13. Work with various standing and special committees in accomplishing their respective duties.
14. Lead in observance of the ordinances of the church.

Job Description

The minister shall serve as the shepherd of the Chinese church In Christ North Valley English congregation, feeding, leading, and nurturing the sheep. This person’s main responsibilities will be to communicate God’s Word, minister to spiritual needs and provide biblical leadership for the English congregation.
