Job Overview

The Equipping Pastor is charged with championing the mission of the church. He will provide the necessary vision and leadership to ensure that mature disciples are being formed into Christlikeness and are equipped to fulfill the Great Commission by providing pathways of growth that are strategic, accessible, and excellent. The Equipping Pastor will be expected to uphold the vision and mission of Providence Church and submit to the authority of the Providence Church elders.

Job Description

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

• Serve as an Elder of Providence Church.
• Champion the mission of Providence Church: To glorify God by making disciples through the gospel, in community and on mission.
• Set clear and defined ministry goals and mobilize efforts to achieve them.
• The primary driver for identifying, equipping, and sending pastors, planters, and missionaries.
• Oversee all adult ministries, which include but not limited to: Men’s/Women’s ministry, Residency program, Providence Church Institute, Adult equipping classes, Support adult ministries’ staff and volunteers, providing them with the oversight needed so that ministry goals are achieved.
• Recruit, train, and leverage leadership teams.
• Facilitate and oversee the Providence Church Institute.
• Collaborate with other church staff/ministries for the purpose of disciple-making.
• Content creation and oversight – maintaining theological integrity and excellence in content.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Be disciplined and diligent with his time, keeping a balance between home and work.
• Recognize that working with a team is essential to successful ministry. It is expected that he will work closely with other staff and church members.
• Maintain confidentiality with sensitive church information.
• College graduate (required).
• Seminary graduate (preferred).

Knowledge and Skills

• Knowledge of Providence Church doctrines and policies.
• Ability to teach.
• Ability to train leaders of leaders.
• Experience with leading through others.
• Creative and strategic thinker.
• Skilled at building systems and processes, a self-starter, capable of completing both long-term projects and immediate tasks with excellence.
• Ability to see what needs to be done and to complete the work required, overcoming any obstacles that arise.
• Ability to organize, prioritize, and multi-task using good time management skills in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and Mac-based programs are required.

Direct Report: The Equipping Pastor reports directly to the Executive Pastor. Schedule: Full-time with benefits Vacation: TBD plus one week at Christmas Salary: TBD
