Executive Director – Biblical Leadership for Excellence

Ministry Description

 BLE Executive Director

 Since founding in 1985 in San Antonio, TX, Biblical Leadership for Excellence (BLE) has helped thousands of individuals experience God’s greater purpose in work. As a result, BLE serves a growing community of believers who are being equipped as effective ambassadors of Christ in the employees work. (Matthew 28:19-20; Ephesians 4:11-12). BLE’s ministry has the greatest influence because of its leaders who follow Christ as servant leaders in all spheres of life (Mark 10:45).  BLE is part of the exciting “faith at work” movement of God locally, nationally, and internationally.   

BLE is seeking an enthusiastic leader with a heart for Kingdom impact and leadership skills who will expand the BLE ministry as BLE enters the fourth decade of ministry.

. Responsibilities:

·         Collaborate with the BLE Board of Directors on strategic initiatives by:

–       Communicating and effectively implementing the BLE Ministry’s purpose, vision, and strategies.

–       Establishing and supporting effective communication methods and structures, including meetings, policy compliance and committees.

–       Providing quarterly financial and ministry reports to the Board of Directors. 

·        Supervise daily ministry operations by:

–       Ensuring the ministry operates within the parameters of the approved budget. 

–       Working to improve the ministry’s quality, efficiency and effectiveness.

–       Collaborating with the board, staff, and other stakeholders to ensure that all the ministry events and activities support the organization’s mission, vision, and strategy.

–       Effectively delegating, making decisions, training, and role clarification for staff (job descriptions), ministry leaders and volunteers.

–       Overseeing and evaluating ministry events to ensure the events are completed efficiently, inclusively and with respect. 

·        Demonstrates maturity and excellence in representing the ministry by:

–       Maintaining mature and collaborative relationships with staff and ministry leaders.

–       Demonstrating integrity, maturity, and respect in representing the ministry to the public, churches, businesses, and other organizations.

–       Leading a BLE ministry group.

–       Collaborating with the existing Executive Director to ensure a healthy ministry transition.

 ·       Responsible in establishing the prerequisites for the ministry’s financial performance by:

–       Demonstrating competence in reading and understanding financial documents, including budgets, cash flow, income statements, and functional expense statements. 

–       Creating, implementing and overseeing the annual fund-raising plans designed to meet the ministry’s budgetary needs (vision, materials, presentations, personal calls, training, technology, etc.) including financial support for the Executive Director position.  

Qualifications & Skills:

• Passionate about BLE’s Mission, Vision, and Strategy.
• Exemplifies a life consistent with BLE’s ministry strategy and core values.
• Effective and enthusiastic communication skills in both public speaking and written communications.
• Organizational leadership experience.

·         Strategic planner.

·         Encourages and exemplifies a process improvement mindset.

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Minimum of 10 years of work experience with exemplary character of servant leadership.
• Minimum 5 years personal ministry leadership experience as a volunteer serving in a church or ministry organization.
• Experienced in leading small group Bible studies.
