First Love International (FLI) is a Christian non-profit organization committed wholistically surrounding the most vulnerable with Jesus-saturated love.  First Love International Ministries Philippines (FLIMP) is a partner organization located and operating in the Philippines.  

The Butterfly Project is a ministry under First Love International Ministries Philippines.  We provide a long-term caring home to girls in the Philippines who have survived sexual abuse and/or exploitation in order to find new life in Jesus.  Our aftercare home provides a loving, safe, and peaceful environment for each girl to begin the healing process.  We provide access to psychological and counseling services to help them overcome the trauma they have experienced. The girls are cared for by a trauma-informed care staff, who help them work on healing from their past through trauma focused therapy. We also offer access to private Christian education to help them embrace their future with hope. We work to help each one tell her story and bring perpetrators of sex crimes and child trafficking to justice.

This position requires candidate to raise money for salary and living expenses but will be supported through the agency of First Love International.

Job Description

Responsibilities:

Strategy and oversight

• Develop and execute short- and long-term strategies to advance The Butterfly Project’s mission and vision. 
• Ensure that the home exceeds standards for trauma-informed care and healing.
• Ensure the safety of the girls that have been entrusted to the home.  This includes practices that protect their physical, mental, emotional and spiritual well-being.

Program

• Supervise, manage and implement projects and activities of The Butterfly Project. 
• Evaluate the outcome of all programs to ensure that the programs align with The Butterfly Project’s mission, vision, and goals.
• Help determine the needs of the children based on staff evaluations and help to execute recommended plans of action.

Financial

• Oversee and manage the highest standard of integrity of financial planning, budgeting, management, and reporting. 
• Provide financial reports and accountability to the Board of Directors and other financial stakeholders.
• Fundraise to ensure that financial needs are met and able to maintain healthy and stable growth. Maintain healthy relationships with the current donors.

Management

• Hire, train and supervise staff while fostering a positive Christ-centered culture. 
• Ensure that The Butterfly Project is compliant with all laws, regulations, and reporting requirements that are applicable to the Philippines government and the Dept. of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD). 
• Lead a multi-disciplinary team made up of The Butterfly Project staff and close partners (i.e. DSWD, International Justice Mission, and local Foundations).
• Initiate collaboration with other established social agencies for networking purposes. 

Communication

• Regularly communicate what God is doing through The Butterfly Project to donors and stakeholders.
• Maintain regular and healthy communication with national staff, volunteers, and missionaries. 
• Provide regular updates to the board of directors and seek input on key decisions. 
• Maintain collaborative communication with other entities involved in the girl’s care (i.e. schools, churches, courts etc.).

Qualifications:

• A committed Christian who is involved in a local Church
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is required and Master’s Degree is preferred
• Proven experience in a mission related field preferably in the Philippines
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in multiple team contexts
• Demonstrated success in managing and leading teams, cross-cultural relationships and strategic planning
• Experience in trauma-informed care or children’s home management
• Experience  or training in handling cases of sexual-exploitation or sexual abuse
