Snapshot: The MNYBA Executive Director will lead the Association as it fulfills its mission to encourage and facilitate intentional Kingdom relationships among churches and church leaders in the New York City Metroplex. A high-capacity networker and catalytic self-starter, who is also culturally intelligent, the Executive Director will oversee church care, cultivate collaborative relationships amongst Association pastors, and execute a local missions strategy. In consultation with pastors, churches, and the Executive Board, the Executive Director will coordinate, advance, and evaluate the mission of MNYBA.

Areas of Oversight:

Organizational Leadership● Lead and develop the MNYBA staff● Manage MNYBA's budget and financial resources, ensure transparency and accountability, and work closely with the Executive Board, Administrative Team, and Treasurer● Oversee the strategic use and maintenance of MNYBA facilities● Oversee the Association's operations, programs, and initiatives

Collaborative Relationships ● Oversee regional networks that work locally to connect churches and church leaders, many of whom represent NYC's ethnic, language, cultural, and socio-economic diversities● Build and lead a team of regional directors to oversee each local network● Facilitate meaningful relationships and cooperation amongst MNYBA churches through strategic events such as prayer gatherings, fellowships, affinity events, and trainings

Local Missions Strategy & Church Care● Oversee planting, strengthening, and resourcing churches in our area● Develop and implement a training, resourcing, and care strategy for churches and church leaders● Cultivate partnership and participation among current MNYBA churches while working to add new churches to our association● Fill the pulpit at Association churches as availability permits

Partner Development● Coordinate ministry initiatives with local and national partners (including churches, the Southern Baptist Convention, State Conventions, Associations, and other mission agencies)● Advocate for MNYBA initiatives by raising money and enlisting strategic involvement● Represent MNYBA by casting vision to potential Kingdom partners around the country

Qualifications● Master's Degree or higher related to ministry, leadership, organizational development, communications, theological studies, or equivalent● Minimum of 3-5 years of experience doing ministry in NYC or NYC-comparable context (priority given to applicant who has lived/served in NYC)● Demonstrated ability to spiritually and strategically lead an organization● Demonstrated ability to facilitate pastoral fellowship, develop strategic partnerships, and work with cooperating churches● Strong communication skills for preaching, vision casting, reporting, and conflict management● Theological alignment with the Baptist Faith and Message 2000 or 1963● Familiarity with Southern Baptist polity and associational life● Willingness to work together 6-12 months with retiring Executive Director George Russ to ensure a smooth transition
