Shepherd Staff is honored to be working with Stonegate Church in Odessa, TX as they search for their next Executive Minister. Stonegate Odessa Church, established in 2015, has become a cornerstone of Odessa, Texas, known for its commitment to biblical teachings and compassionate outreach. With an average weekly attendance of 300 to 325, the diverse and dedicated leadership team embodies the mission: "Love God, Love People, Make Disciples."

Responsibilities:

  • Human Resources
      • Lead the ministry staff to support and execute the vision of the Elders
      • Responsible for the training, development, and evaluation of both ministry and support staff
      • Assist the Elders and staff in recruitment and hiring processes; promote effective service through the provision of requisite workspace and equipment.
      • Establish and maintain a set of key performance measures that provide the Elders and church staff with ongoing visibility of the effectiveness of all functional areas of the church. These measurements should help determine our short-term and long-term progress in meeting our church goals and vision.
  • Business Operations
    • Work with the Stewardship Team to monitor and oversee church finances (cash flow, budget prep, contributions, insurance, banking and financing, payroll, leases, loans, etc)
    • Monitor income, investment, and expenditure trends to assist in strategic financial planning
    • HR & IT Management
    • Lead the church's budgeting and financial planning processes
  • Facility Operations
    • Oversee building and capital asset maintenance (including grounds, custodial, and facility improvements)
    • Lead building programs to include capital fundraising campaigns, master planning, contracting and construction
    • Oversee and direct building cleaning, maintenance, safety, and emergency management teams
  • Strategic Planning & Leadership
    • Support the Elders in planning and implementation of strategic objectives
    • Guide staff coordination to meet objectives
    • Support the Elders in vision and goal-setting
    • Support the Elders in developing new ministry areas of focus or programs
    • Maintain an awareness of current trends and best practices within ministries of comparable size
