Job Overview

Memorial Park Church is currently seeking our next Executive Pastor. This position serves as spiritual leader in our staff, congregation and in the community. They will have the opportunity to preach, host services, teach classes, provide care, develop important ministry, and implement strategy at MPC. The ideal candidate will be ordained or ordainable within the EPC (Evangelical Presbyterian Church), have experience leading and developing ministry leaders and bring a multitude of executive and administrative gifts.

Professional Qualifications

• A vibrant faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord
• Master of Divinity and Ordained/Ordainable in the EPC
• Demonstrated expertise in preaching and teaching
• Proficiency in personnel management and church administration
• A "people friendly" personality
• Recognize and encourage the strengths of our staff
• Work cohesively as part of a team ministry
• 10+ years experience in pastoral ministry and/or operational leadership in a non-profit

Executive Responsibilities

• Leads and develops a team of six staff and multiple volunteers with varying levels of experience
• Responsible for the Accounting, Human Resources, and Facilities functions including supervision of staff and active participation in respective committee meetings
• Oversees and aligns the ministry and operations of MPC as a member of the Executive and Leadership Teams
• Oversees Women's, Men's, and Marriage Ministries

Pastoral Responsibilities

• Works with the Lead Pastor and Session to implement a compelling vision for the church
• Contributes to the design and implementation of worship experiences to ensure effective style, content and structure
• Provides biblical teaching to the congregation, enabling attendees to grow in faith drawing ever nearer to God
• Shares pastoral responsibilities by assisting with visitations, weddings, funerals and counseling
• Preaches expository sermons deeply rooted in Scripture, emphasizing practical application to daily life, with an authenticity and humility that appeals to believers and seekers alike
• Takes time for study, reflection and rest to nurture spiritual growth and health
