Part-time Facilities Director

Purpose:

To provide an attractive and functional place through management, maintenance and custodial work, for the church family to fulfill the purpose of Faith.

Philosophy of Ministry:

This role is designed to do the work of the ministry as well as work with their Deacon team to equip and mobilize the church family to care for the facility.

Accountability:

• This position will report directly to the Executive Pastor under the authority of Elders.
• This person will work 20 – 25 hours per week and plan the schedule with the Executive Pastor.

Qualifications:

• Display a personal faith in Jesus Christ, agree with and sign the church statement of faith.
• This position requires expertise in facilities management and administration as well as the ability to do daily heavy physical work.

Areas of Responsibility:

• Manage and perform the duties necessary to accomplish the stated purpose of this position.
• Manage the facilities including buildings, grounds, equipment and maintenance.
• Coordinate all major facilities work and issues with pastors, elders, staff and teams.
• Directly supervise the custodial team, recruit staff, and conduct performance evaluations.
• Mobilize a team of volunteers and coordinate work days and projects at church, engaging paid staff, facility team, church volunteers, and contractors to accomplish all facilities work.
• Perform regular maintenance and custodial work.

Duties:

• Physical facility
  1. Develop and maintain a 5-year rolling Capital budget
  2. Manage and reconcile monthly budgets in coordination with the Facility Team
  3. Develop contracts and purchase orders
  4. Develop and maintain 5 years of records for contracts, purchase orders and endorsed insurance certificates
  5. Provide approximately 15 hours of personal maintenance and custodial work covering needed daytime hours
  6. Be current on applicable OSHA, Environmental, Building Codes and Fire Codes and assure facility's compliance
  7. Manage security and maintain a secure environment in conjunction with the Facility Team
  8. Meet monthly with and work with the Facilities Team to set direction, goals and plans to maintain and develop the facility
  9. Regularly attend a portion of the staff meetings
  10. Serve as primary contact for facility related emergencies
  11. Oversee ordering supplies and equipment for the facility
  12. Ensure the maintenance of facility equipment

• Supervise Custodial team
  1. Lead the team of custodians at Faith to provide quality care for the facility
  2. Develop a schedule of work and duty assignments for the team
  3. Provide direction and feedback on work to achieve set goals
  4. Manage timesheet reporting for and participate in hiring of custodial staff
  5. Perform annual review process with the Executive Pastor
  6. Plan and schedule regular maintenance jobs such as carpet cleaning
  7. Create an environment of high productivity and efficiency through example and mentoring
  8. Provide a time of prayer each week with the custodial staff for personal needs, church and staff needs, and the Lord's guidance on one's daily work.
