MISSION STATEMENT
To inspire Christ-like change through Outdoor Adventure, Authentic Relationships, and Biblical Truth
COMMUNITY
The makeup of our community determines a large part of what it is like to live and work here. We have about 120 people who live on-site year-round, comprised of full-time staff and their families and seasonal staff. Glorieta is a beautiful place with many natural resources but calls for somewhat remote living.
Job Purpose:
To fulfill our mission by supporting all aspects of the Family Camp Program to make it successful quantitatively and qualitatively. Develop programming that builds the family unit using outdoor adventure, authentic relationships, and Biblical truth. Gain, secure, and retain guests from summer to summer. Develop key relationships with parents, students, pastors, and staff. Assist the administration of paperwork for group organization, budgets, and quality control.
Full-Time Staff:
● Provide administrative and organizational support to the Family Camp Manager, helping ensure the success of the program's day-day operations.
● Assist in the oversight and encouragement of Summer Staff, modeling Glorieta's mission and values in both personal and professional conduct.
● Take initiative in maintaining systems for communication, scheduling, documentation, and staff feedback to help create an environment of learning and growth.
● Support the development and implementation of Family Camp goals and strategies by being detail oriented and adaptable to evolving needs.
● Demonstrate ownership of assigned areas by taking lead on specific projects, tracking progress, and ensuring follow-through.
● Collaborate with teams across departments to align efforts with Glorieta's strategic objectives.
General Responsibility:
● Market for Family Camp through print, email, phone calls , web, face-to-face visits, events, Instagram, Facebook, and other media.
● Manage family registrations, metricks, and logistics using systems like Salesforce, and Google Suite.
● Oversee and maintain communication threads with all things related to [email protected] emails.
● Communicate with the marketing team to support registration goals through email, phone calls, social media, and other platforms.
● Maintain clear records and provide timely follow-up with families, staff, and interdepartmental teams.
● Gain, secure, and retain families from summer to summer.
● Interview, hire, and help train Summer Staff, gaining insight into all aspects of their work and offering support and prayer.
● Assists in the development of programming for Family Camp that builds up the family unit using outdoor adventure, authentic relationships and Biblical truth.
● Consistently pray for incoming and returning families and for God's provision for new families and program needs.
● Assist in the development and creation of new programming options including curriculum, processes, activities, etc.
● Represent Family Camp in a professional and welcoming manner during guest interactions and promotional events.
● Maintain communication and relationships with families through weekly emails/updates/devotions/prayer requests.
● Work with Retreat & School groups in the non-summer months, which includes housekeeping, kitchen duties, hosting, facilitating activities etc.
● Help maintain physical spaces and resources needed for Family Camp, preparing for both in-season and off-season use.
● Communicate with other departments the needs of Family Camp.
Summer Responsibilities:
● Support summer staff training by helping cast vision, provide logistical guidance, and assist with orientation and job-specific instruction.
● Encourage the spiritual growth of Summer Staff through active involvement in Bible studies, prayer, and group discussion.
● Assist in creating and managing summer staff schedules, volunteers, and adjusting as needed to meet program and guest needs.
● Address guest needs and follow guest services training when working with the guest.
● Be present, engaged, and solution-oriented when addressing guest needs, modeling hospitality and responsiveness at all times.
Other Duties of ALL Glorieta Staff: We operate year-round. We have guests on the premises almost every day of the year. Serving guests is our number one priority, and therefore ALL staff must participate in guest service in some capacity. Tasks may include cooking, cleaning, facilitating group activities, running retail locations, general maintenance of camp property, and work projects as needed. There are often groups here on weekends, and all staff members will be required to work certain weekends as needed.
Character, Education, Abilities, Skills, Experience:
The "ideal" candidate will have and demonstrate:
● Strong sense of hospitality and customer service
● Clear communication skills face-to-face, over the phone, and through email ● College Degree or higher is preferred
● Ability to use technological systems at Camp proficiently
● Proficient use of Spreadsheets
● Experience with Salesforce
● Ability to work long hours
● Ability to confront, encourage, and inspire staff towards excellence in their work
● Team player mindset in working with other departments
● Professional communication with guests Administrative and organization skills
● Flexible and able to work well in various work environments (Busy and Slow Seasons)
Work Context: This job will be performed primarily on location at the Glorieta, New Mexico location Travel: Will travel to help with recruiting, marketing, networking, or workshop training.
Physical Demands: Ability to lift 60 lbs, sit in an office, hike, stand all day, be willing to get one's hands dirty.
Work Environment: Most work will be done in the office, at a desk with the exception of summer when one will be asked to work in a variety of situations all over camp. Occasionally, one may be asked to help with all-camp projects, including working in inclement weather conditions throughout the year. One can also expect to be traveling as necessary for marketing and recruiting throughout the non-summer months.
Training: Employees will be given the opportunity for improvement through appropriate training.
Compensation: Hourly pay including overtime, onsite housing, medical reimbursement program at no cost to the employee, 401(k) retirement package after one year, and paid vacation time. See HR and/or potential supervisor for details.
