Family, Children’s, and Youth Ministry Director
Job Overview
This role provides leadership and vision primarily to Children's program development, coordination, and implementation. Also requires providing direction to staff and volunteers who are committed to shepherding children, birth through fifth grade along with their families.
In addition, as Youth Ministry leader, be responsible for the oversight of the Youth program for junior and senior high students (sixth through twelfth grades). This role provides program development and implementation as well as direction for volunteers who are committed to serving Youth.
The FCYM Director is a servant leader who loves youth and wants to help them develop a personal relationship with God.
Job Description
Children's Leader Responsibilities include:
- Oversee children's ministry activities including:

- Sunday morning Children's Church
- Summer vacation Bible school program
- Christmas and Easter programs
- Other special events
- Recruit, schedule, train, and pray for and with children's ministry volunteers
- Establish and maintain positive and healthy relationships with children and their families
- Integrate the family and children's ministry with the larger church outreach ministry
- Communicate consistently and effectively with parents/guardians of the children involved at Faith Covenant as well as the parents/guardians of visitors
- Promote the health and safety of all children and volunteers and ensure that all volunteers adhere to Faith Covenant ministry policies
- Create and effectively manage the children's ministry budget
- Attend regular staff meetings
- Establish connections with local schools and community organizations
Youth Leader Responsibilities:
- Organize and lead the youth ministry activities of Faith Covenant Church.
- Provide a weekly youth group experience for middle and high school students and create an environment that students want to be a part of and to which they will invite unchurched friends.
- Provide for Youth Sunday School (grades 9-12).
- Oversee curriculum that has an applicable message that is interesting and relevant to today's youth.
- Activities should promote teaching, learning, and discipleship.
- Provide an environment that encourages adults in the church to be a part of the youth ministry team.
- Incorporate mission-minded teachings in youth ministry and provide opportunities to do mission work locally and beyond.
- Oversee the Youth Ministry budget.
- Coordinate activities between the FCC Children's Ministry and the Young Adult Ministry
Qualifications:
- Passionate follower of Jesus Christ
- Loves kids. Able to build trust with young people and their parents
- Prior experience with children's programming in a church setting
- A desire to teach and mentor children with patience and an accepting heart
- Knows the Bible and can relate it to everyday life
- Ability to build a team and lead it in a unified direction
- Strong communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills
- Strong computer and social media skills
