Job Overview

Forest Baptist Church is prayerfully seeking a full-time Family Life Pastor, a spiritually mature male leader who will shepherd and disciple the families, children, and youth of our church. This position is vital to our church's vision of building Christ-centred homes and raising the next generation to love and follow Jesus. This role includes pastoral care, discipleship leadership, team development, curriculum oversight, and hands-on involvement in weekly programs. The successful candidate will bring spiritual depth, strategic leadership, a relational heart, and a strong theological foundation to help us fulfill our mission.

The Family Life Pastor will provide vision, leadership, and pastoral care (under the headship of the Elders), to all ministries related to families, children, and youth. He will work closely with parents to equip them as the primary disciplers of their children, while building Christ-centred, biblically faithful programs that nurture faith from childhood through young adulthood. This role requires a hands-on leader who is gifted in teaching, mentoring, organizing, and team-building, and preaching, and who has a heart for seeing families flourish in Christ.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities: · Lead and oversee all family and youth ministries (Sunday School, Kids Club, VBS, Jr. High, High School). · Disciple families and youth through teaching, mentoring, small groups, and events. · Shepherd parents and students, offering biblical guidance and pastoral care. · Recruit, train, and support volunteers for all children and youth ministries. · Select and manage curriculum, resources, procedures, and program budgets. · Ensure ministry safety through adherence to our Vulnerable Sector Policy. · Coordinate with other churches for joint youth events and outreach. · Develop new ministries as led by the Holy Spirit to meet emerging family needs. · Preach occasionally and support other pastoral responsibilities as needed.
