Summit Gateway Family Pastor

Summary: The Family Pastor leads kids and students to know, love, and follow Jesus and supports parents as they embrace their God-given discipleship roles in the home, resulting in the flourishing of the families of Summit Church Gateway.

Reports to: Campus Pastor, Elders

Qualities and Requirements: The Family Pastor should have a vision and desire to see families flourish as they follow Jesus, equipping parents, students and kids to grow in our discipleship outcomes. He should have proven pastoral and leadership abilities that are confirmed by others, and at least 3-5 years of ministry experience, with the ability to teach, lead, organize, and develop volunteer teams. Lastly, the Family Pastor should be a teachable and humble man who pursues intimacy with God as his highest priority and faithfully leads his family to do the same.

KEY AREAS AND GOALS

KEY AREA #1: Family Development

1. Develop discipling environments to help parents navigate the complexities of leading their families, providing them with necessary tools to faithfully embrace their roles as disciple-makers.

2. Meet with parents and students as necessary for pastoral care.

3. Communicate clearly, consistently, and effectively with parents regarding information pertaining to Summit Kids and Summit Students.

4. Assist in the assimilation process of kids, students, and their parents into the life of the church.

KEY AREA #2: Leadership Development

1. Give oversight and assistance to our Summit Kids Coordinator in weekly Sunday morning environments.

2. Assist in recruiting and training/empowering volunteers to serve in every area needed for Summit Kids and Summit Students environments.

3. Implement a regular rhythm of celebrating, encouraging, and investing in all volunteers.

4. Work with the Summit Kids Coordinator to ensure the proper scheduling and coordination of volunteers for all ministry events and environments.

KEY AREA #3: Ministry Development

1. Implement the vision of Summit Kids and Summit Students along with the staff of Summit Gateway.

2. Implement a discipleship and care process to intentionally invest in the ongoing development of Students.

3. Create teaching schedule for Summit Students and be a primary communicator, while equipping other leaders to be able to teach.

4. Work with other campuses to plan and lead central events and gatherings throughout the year as needed (student camps, sports camp, etc.).

5. Give assistance and oversight to the preparation of curriculum along with the Summit Kids Coordinator to be prepared for all Summit Kids environments. 6. Follow and implement all Summit Church security protocols to ensure that every environment is safe for participants.

7. Be able to teach in a variety of ministry environments (Men's Ministry, Membership Class, Learning Environments)

KEY AREA #4: Outreach Development

1. Work with the Summit Staff to assist in outreach projects that pertain to serving the families in our community (Serve Our Schools, Christmas Outreach, etc.)

2. Develop and grow local school partnerships in our Circle of Accountability in order to build relationships with students in our community.

3. Envision, equip and empower our Summit Students to represent the gospel to students in their local schools.

KEY AREA #5: Personal Development

1. Will make every effort to have a Monthly desolate day and Weekly Sabbath Rest.

2. Elder development as articulated by candidacy assessment.
