VISION AND MISSION OF LEBANON BAPTIST CHURCH

Lebanon Baptist Church seeks to glorify God by equipping the disciples of the church through Gospel-centered/expository preaching, biblically-sound education, Christ-exalting worship, Spirit-led prayer, and soul-nurturing fellowship. Lebanon Baptist Church seeks to glorify God by engaging our surrounding culture with Gospel-centered evangelism, sacrificial service, brotherly love, and Scriptural truth.

JOB SUMMARY

The primary roles of the Family Pastor are: 1) striving to lead his own wife and children as a godly husband and 2) striving to build up a growing and healthy next generation of leaders and disciples for Jesus Christ at LBC. Preach, Teach, Disciple, and Equip the children and students of LBC and their leaders to know and understand the Bible. Focus primarily on educating students 6th-12th grade while also equipping parents to grow in their ability to disciple their own children. Sunday nights and Wednesday nights for Youth. Discipleship: The Family Pastor will oversee our Sunday School and Discipleship programs, which include: Working with Sunday School Director, and all other discipleship efforts at Lebanon Baptist Church.

AUTHORITY AND ACCOUNTABILITY

Pastoral authority lies in the authority of God's Word (2 Tim. 4:1-2). Has authority to act in accordance with the church By-Laws, Constitution, and Policies and Procedures. The Family Pastor is accountable to the Lead Pastor for the performance of his duties. Directly lead all support volunteers serving in Youth and Children's ministry.

OVERSEE MINISTRIES: CHILDREN AND STUDENTS

Meet regularly with the Children's and Youth Committees to pray, cast vision, plan, challenge, and encourage leadership to all work together to provide a safe, encouraging environment for children and students to grow in their knowledge of the Gospel. Host Leadership Training Session once per year to equip the volunteers of both the Children's and Student's Ministries in their volunteer roles. Organize and lead special events for Students: Mission Trip, Summer Camp, and more. Partner with Children's Committee in overseeing/supporting special events for Children: Vacation Bible School, Children's Camp, and more. Partner with Upward Committee for Basketball/Cheerleading.

PREACHING/TEACHING OF THE WORD

Proclaim the Word of God and serve as a teacher of Scripture with emphasis on expository preaching, whenever called on by the Lead Pastor (at least 4x per year during the Sunday Worship Service). Spend the necessary time in study and prayer for weekly Sunday and Wednesday night Student Services, and additional discipleship studies. Demonstrate the ability to share the gospel with unbelievers and equip others to grow and share the Gospel. Offer personal discipleship to male students and equip female volunteer leaders to offer discipleship to female students. Partner with Children's Committee in developing strategies for education to equip children and students to grow year-by-year in their knowledge of Scripture and the Gospel. Other job-related tasks and responsibilities as required (i.e. school visits, staff meetings, Backpack Buddies, support other LBC staff, etc.).

PASTORAL CARE

Establish a daily prayer habit to pray for the children, students, parents, as well as other urgent prayer needs among the congregation of LBC. Partner with other staff members and deacons for hospital visits and in-home visits. Partner with Lead Pastor in counseling (primarily with children and students as well as their parents). Partner with the Lead Pastor in developing and implementing short- and long-term goals in keeping with the overall Ministry. Partner with the Lead Pastor in the day-to-day operations of the local church.

ADMINISTRATION

Develop and maintain yearly Student Ministry Budget in conjunction with the Lead Pastor. Partner with Children's Committee in the maintenance of the Children's Ministry Budget. Develop and execute a plan to follow-up with children and students who are guests of LBC. In cooperation with Building Committee: Oversee the use of, cleanliness of, and effectiveness of Student Ministry facilities. Oversee the use of, cleanliness of, and effectiveness of Children Ministry facilities.

MINISTRY FORECASTING

Develop a yearly Ministry Plan covering the areas of: Discipleship, Evangelism, Pastoral Care, Preaching, Missions, and Sunday School as it aligns with the mission of LBC in accordance with God's Word. Identify and equip volunteer leaders for the work of training children and students as disciples.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Follower of Christ with a call and desire to serve vocationally in the context of the Local Church. Meet the qualifications laid out in God's Word found in 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:5-9. It is preferred that he be a graduate from an accredited seminary (M.A., M. Div., Th. M., or equivalent). Uphold Holy Scripture, the Baptist Faith and Message 2000, and LBC Constitution and By-Laws. Two years' experience in serving (preferably youth/children) in a local church setting. An internal passion to glorify God by making disciples through teaching sound doctrine from the Word Communicate effectively and truthfully with youth, parents, ministry volunteers, and LBC staff. Eagerness to work in conjunction with Lead Pastor to develop educational lessons, ministry development plans, ministry events, and more for the sake of encouraging youth toward Christ.
