Family Pastor

Job Overview

The Family Pastor will provide vision, leadership, and oversight for ministries that serve children, students, and parents at Reliance Fellowship. This pastoral role exists to come alongside and equip families to grow in Christ, strengthen discipleship at home, and foster intergenerational connection within the church body.

Job Description

Leadership & Vision

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive discipleship strategy for families, children, and youth.
  • Align family ministry with the overall mission and vision of Reliance Fellowship.
  • Recruit, train, and shepherd volunteers across children's and student ministries.
  • Engage and integrate young adults into the life of the church, fostering intergenerational connection

Youth Ministry Leadership

  • Directly lead the youth ministry (middle school and high school), overseeing weekly gatherings and discipleship groups.
  • Build relationships with students and parents, fostering a Christ-centered community.
  • Equip students to live out their faith and engage in the mission of the church.
  • Partner with parents to support discipleship at home during the teenage years.

Teaching & Discipleship

  • Oversee age-appropriate teaching that is biblically sound and gospel-centered.
  • Provide resources and training to parents to disciple their children at home.
  • Preach and teach occasionally in broader church settings as needed.

Pastoral Care

  • Offer spiritual guidance and counseling to families.
  • Support parents in navigating challenges related to marriage, parenting, and faith formation.
  • Be regularly present in the life and habits of our community.

Administration

  • Manage ministry budgets, schedules, and curriculum.
  • Ensure safety policies and procedures are followed for all family ministry environments.
  • Collaborate with staff team to integrate family ministry into the life of the church.

Character Qualifications

  • Meets the requirements for a pastor given in Scripture
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to recruit, equip, and inspire volunteers.
  • Abide by all personnel policies and doctrinal convictions of Reliance Fellowship.
  • Evidences gifting and skill in ministry, leadership, decision- making, administration and delegation
  • Demonstrates the ability to teach, train, and equip others

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

  • Compensation is salaried.
  • Reimbursement account for meals with volunteers or ministry leaders
  • Professional development reimbursement available (subject to approval).

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Must possess a bachelors degree in ministry, theology or related field (Master's preferred).
  • Preferably 3–5 years of experience in family, youth, or children's ministry.
