Job Summary:

The Neighborhood Church is seeking a relational, passionate, and spiritually mature Family Pastor to lead a comprehensive discipleship strategy for children, students, and parents. The Family Pastor will provide oversight and leadership for all ministries from birth through high school, partnering with parents and volunteers to nurture lifelong faith in the next generation.

This role is not just about running programs—it's about building a culture and system that equips families to follow Jesus together.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Vision:

• Develop and lead a cohesive vision for family ministry that aligns with the church's mission
• Oversee ministries for nursery, preschool, elementary, middle, and high school students
• Build and lead teams of volunteers for each age group
• Partner with the Lead Pastor to integrate families into the broader church body

Children's & Student Ministry Oversight:

• Equip and support leaders to provide safe, engaging, gospel-centered programming
• Develop or select curriculum for each age group that fosters spiritual growth and biblical literacy
• Provide leadership for weekly programs, events, camps, and outreach opportunities
• Ensure smooth transitions between age groups to promote lifelong faith development

Parent & Family Engagement:

• Equip and resource parents as the primary spiritual leaders in their homes
• Create pathways for family discipleship, workshops, and intergenerational experiences
• Create connection between church preschool and church through intentional connection and ministry to parents at the school
• Foster community and support for multi-cultural families through events, small groups, and mentoring

Volunteer Development:

• Recruit, train, and encourage a diverse team of volunteers
• Provide clear expectations, spiritual support, and ongoing development
• Create schedules for volunteers
• Create a healthy culture of leadership, ownership, and joy in serving

Pastoral Care & Church Involvement:

• Provide pastoral care and spiritual guidance to families, kids, and teens
• Provide care for families whose children are in the church preschool
• Preach or teach occasionally as part of the pastoral team
• Participate in all-church events and contribute to the life and leadership of the church

Qualifications:

• A vibrant, growing relationship with Jesus Christ and a passion for discipleship
• A deep love for families and a calling to nurture faith in children and youth
• Minimum of 1-3 years ministry experience with children, youth, or family systems
• Strong leadership, team-building, and communication skills
• Ability to lead and develop volunteers
• Familiarity with curriculum, safety protocols, and child development
• Bachelor's degree in ministry, education, or a related field (preferred)
• Teachable, humble, and aligned with the doctrine and mission of the Assemblies of God
• Credentials with the Assemblies of God (preferred but not required)

Compensation: Includes housing, utilities, and a part time stipend. No health benefits at this time.
