Flex-Relief Houseparent

Job Overview

The Flex-Relief position provides both a supportive role for the ministry of Boys Farm as well as a direct care role, on a limited basis. Through this role, the Flex-Relief will not only care for and invest in the discipleship and development of the boys in our program, but will also support houseparents directly and indirectly, helping them through a variety of methods to thrive in their role, as well as supporting administrative staff in accomplishing overall goals in providing programs on campus. Please note the responsibilities below.

Job Description

QUALIFICATIONS: The Flex Relief must have a bachelor's degree or a minimum educational background of a high school diploma and previous work experience in a residential facility or similar ministry. Must be able to demonstrate the ability to work cooperatively with the administration, staff, clients and Board of Directors of the agency. Must possess planning and organizational abilities. Must have good communication skills and the ability to meet people easily and work cooperatively with others. Must have strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, demonstrated leadership and supervisory abilities. Reflects a positive agency image through appropriate manner, behavior, and dress.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Responsible for Relief House Parenting at most 8 days during the month.
  2. Schedule and Coordinate with Executive Director and Houseparents weekly date nights and weekly stints to step into a cottage and provide relief during work program or other times to give houseparents a respite.
  3. Assists the weekly Athletic and Recreational Program together with the Campus Life Manager.
  4. Help plan and organize together with Campus Life Manager the monthly Campus Fellowship time.
  5. Responsible for organizing the Clothing Closet, maintaining Shop clean and organized and performing maintenance in cottages as necessary.
  6. Attend Rotary and Ribbon Cuttings together with Executive Director and/or Development Director to raise awareness of Boys Farm.
  7. Available for representing Boys Farm and speaking at churches, civic organizations and other speaking request or tours on campus.
  8. Assist with the organization of the Volunteer Program, Fall Festival & Donor Dinner together with the Executive Director and Development Director.
  9. Ability to step into a cottage in the case of an emergency for longer term to provide continuity in care for the children.

10. Performs other duties as assigned by the Executive Director to assist in the overall wellbeing and functioning of the organization.
