Position: Food Service Coordinator Reports to: Director

Objective: The Food Service Coordinator/ Cook, through an active, personal relationship with Jesus Christ and culinary and organizational skills, will cultivate relationships while providing snacks and meals that meet the needs of children and staff while glorifying God.

Responsibilities:

To lead the food preparation, handling, and distribution for the preschoolTo provide varied and nutritious menusTo order and store all food items needed efficiently and in a timely manner, observing the budgetary limits of the schoolTo maintain sanitary and safe conditions in the food preparation areaRecognize the role of parents as primarily responsible before God for their child's education and assist them in that taskDemonstrate to families and staff a commitment to Christ and to live under His LordshipTo use quality food production techniques to produce appealing and nutritious foodsTo use standardized recipes and follow assigned schedules and guidelines in order to promote healthy eatingTo ensure high standards of hygiene and safety are maintained at all times according to Orange County Health and North Carolina regulationsTo ensure any information received concerning children is kept confidential at all timesTo attend staff meetings and training opportunities as requestedTo maintain organized storage areas at all timesMonitor food and supply inventory, ordering promptly and efficientlyTo be flexible with the working practices of the preschoolBe ready to assist in other preschool areas as needed, per the director.Provide first aid to children according to established proceduresTo prepare monthly menus according to nutrition guidelines To perform job functions in a productive and efficient mannerArrive to work on time and consistently observe the established work schedule

Accountability:

Reports directly to the MGP Director or delegated supervision when needed Accountable in general to the Board of Directors and Ebenezer Baptist Church
