EFC Irvine is seeking a youth pastor with a heart to raise up the next generation. We are seeking a disciple-making pastor who loves the Lord Jesus. 

Requirements: 

• Seminary graduate (or will finish within 6 months) 
• Recommendation from previous church 
• Have a good reputation among the Christian community 
• Willing to work in a multicultural, multi-generational church environment. 
• Have hope and vision for the youth in the immigrant church context. 
• Language: Fluent in English. Able to speak Chinese is a plus. 
• Be very familiar with American culture and ABC (American Born Chinese) mentality. 
• Need to understand Chinese culture and mentality. 

Theological alignment: 

• Affirm the Apostles Creed (Doctrine of the Trinity and the Deity of Christ) 
• Believe in the biblical standards of traditional marriage only between a man and a woman.  
• Does not promote any unbiblical perspectives about sexuality & LGBTQ ideologies. 
• EFC believes in the pastoral calling of both men and women. 

Job Description

Youth Group Job Duties

• Lead weekly Friday Night Fellowship,  including Bible studies
  • Give talks regarding the Bible study for the night
  • Organize small groups and small group leaders
  • Send guides/questions for small group leaders to use
  • Plan fun and relationship-building activities
  • Communicating with parents 
• Find suitable Bible study materials and plan calendar for the school year
• Prepare and send weekly Bible study lessons for youth to read on their own as their daily devotional
• Discipleship and Training
  • Disciple a small group of student leaders (we call it the Core Team) – based on same gender principles. We split groups into boys and girls. 
  • Train young adult volunteers and parents of the youth to be disciple-makers or Small Group Leaders (SGL)

• Counseling – Be able to offer counseling to the youth that are struggling in their faith and need personal 1-on-1 attention. 
• Building friendship and trust by organizing hang-out times in small group settings. For example, take them out for Boba or pizza and talk about life. 

English Ministry Job Duties

• Preach Sunday sermon at least once per month
• Organize Sunday School or Sunday activity  for the youth

Pastoral Staff Meetings 

• Tuesday staff meetings are mandatory from 10am to 12pm. 
• Be willing to work with other pastors when there are joint events
