POSITION SUMMARY: The Girls Student Ministry Director will assist the Equipping Pastor and Student Director in implementing a comprehensive discipleship strategy for teenage girls. She will be responsible for overseeing all Girls’ Ministry activities and events, with a strong focus on discipleship, mentoring, and relationship building. Additionally, she will provide administrative support as needed for student ministry activities. She will also spearhead the GroveStudent Hospitality team and guest experience for all students new to The Grove. Overall, she is responsible for leading teenage girls to become mature disciples of Christ.
Job Description
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Work in coordination with the overall goals of GroveStudents
Determines objectives, key results, and initiatives for this ministry with the guidance of the Student Director.
Supervise the planning, coordinating, implementation, and evaluation of the Girls Student Ministry
Enlist, equip, and evaluate all volunteer leaders needed to accomplish ministry objectives
Champion disciple making groups (DMG) for girls in middle school and high school
Own first impressions, check in, and guest experience for all student gatherings by leading a volunteer team that executes the strategy on every moment of a first time guest’s pathway
Provide administrative support to the GroveStudents Director in the planning of all activities; including mission trips, summer camps, retreats, and other activities
Recruit, equip, and train other females to conduct weekly discipleship and mentoring for senior high girls—including current students
Model disciple making and mentoring relationships with high school and middle girls for leaders to replicate
Develop a strategy for ongoing connection/relationship building with the girls of GroveStudents outside of regularly scheduled Student Ministry Gatherings (i.e. weekly phone calls, note cards, emails, off-campus hangouts, etc.)
Plan special events and outings, in coordination with the student ministry calendars, that meet girls’ social needs, encourages spiritual growth, and/or evangelizes lost students
Identify ministry opportunities to help girls discover their gifts, strengths and weaknesses so they can maximize their time and energy for the Kingdom of God
Assists in the selection of materials and curriculums needed for discipling teenage girls
Assists the Student Director with growth and training opportunities for female volunteer leaders
Provides encouragement and support to girls and their families in a crisis situations (i.e. hospital visits, mental illness episodes, etc.)
