Job Overview
Provide spiritual, logistical, and relational leadership for Grace Church's Grace Kids ministry (ages: nursery-5th grade).
Job Description
I. Administration – (45%) Participate in weekly church staff meetings. Resetting and stocking kids' classrooms. Printing and organizing materials needed for weekly ministry events. Communicate with parents a monthly message regarding schedule reminders, updates, and announcements. Manage the schedule of volunteers and teachers. Along with the coordinators, communicate weekly with volunteers who are serving. Organize and arrange the curriculum. Manage and monitor the Grace Kids Budget.
II. Supervision, Teaching & Training – (45%) Oversee the team of Grace Kids Coordinators. Work with the Pastor of Family Ministries to recruit, train, and supervise volunteers. Prepare and teach lessons when needed. Perform an annual review of curriculum effectiveness for each age range, with input from teachers and parents. Engage and involve parents with what their children are learning. Help ensure the Grace Kids space is safe, organized, and effective. Support staff and volunteers as needed to set up rooms. Implement safety and security safeguards to protect children, including coordinating volunteer background checks and providing safety training. Coordinate and organize activities to encourage and facilitate teamwork among the Grace Kids staff and volunteers. Provide constructive feedback to volunteers. Introduce relevant volunteer training. Recruit, onboard and train new volunteers.
III. Event Coordination – 10% Be present at special Grace Kids events throughout the year. Collaborate with other church leaders and support persons to plan, coordinate, and implement special events related to Grace Kids throughout the year, including childcare for church-wide events as needed. Empower and oversee an annual VBS team. Qualifications A growing relationship with the Lord and a love and passion for serving Him. In agreement with Grace's Core Values and Statement of Faith. Meets the membership requirements and continues to be a member in good standing. A passion for working with children and families to grow in their faith. Ability to speak, teach, and pray in front of large groups of adults and children. Strong leadership and interpersonal communication skills with adults and children. Willingness and desire to grow, listen, learn, mentor, and teach. Flexibility and ability to adapt within a quickly growing church environment. Ability to exercise appropriate judgment, discretion, sensitivity, and confidentiality. An updated background check and SA training are required. Obtain and maintain infant/child CPR and first aid certifications. Bachelor's degree or higher in education, biblical studies, or a ministry-related field. Minimum 2 years of ministry service in a Children's ministry. Participate in the community life of our church.
