Job Overview

The Groups Director serves to help the church fulfill our mission to proclaim the truth of Jesus and grow mature disciples for the glory of God by helping oversee the GROW ministry of the church in our Gather, Grow, Practice, Go strategy.

Job Description

• Oversee the Grow Ministry—Community Groups, Segment Groups (Men's, Women's, Senior's, etc.), and Bethel Equip (6-week topical studies)
• Recruit, equip, and train Group leaders.
• Help Group leaders identify, prepare, and coach assistant group leaders to launch new groups.
• Oversee and work in collaboration with the staff and Elders to develop the framework, structures, and strategies by which the Community Groups function
• Regularly (at least quarterly) meet with and coach Community Groups & Segment Groups Leaders. Provide a yearly review to the leaders and strategize for individual group success and multiplication. Provide relevant documents to Lead Pastor/elders.
• Develop a simple outline and discussion questions for Community Groups Leaders based on weekly sermons.
• Work with Lead Pastor to provide direction for curricula for Segment Ministry Groups and to confirm (with the assistance of the Lead Pastor and/or elders) the suitability of curricula.
• Attend staff meetings (as able)
• Coordinate teachers for (and possibly teach) Bethel Equip classes.
