The Head of Upper School is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing the academic, social, and emotional development of students in grades 6-12. Recruit, hire, develop, and evaluate upper school faculty across grades 6-12

Foster a collaborative and engaging teaching environment
- Facilitate regular faculty meetings and professional development opportunities
- Observe classroom instruction and provide constructive feedback
- Support teachers in implementing curriculum and addressing classroom challenges

Establish a God honoring culture that promotes student well-being
- Provide direct counseling and guidance to students facing academic or personal challenges
- Oversee the student discipline process with an emphasis on growth and development

Foster student leadership opportunities and extracurricular engagement
- Facilitate successful transitions between middle school (6-8) and high school (9-12)

Instruct and enforce educational best practices aligned with the school's mission
- Oversee academic policies, grading standards, and assessment procedures
- Coordinate with department chairs on curriculum planning and implementation
- Serve as the primary liaison between the upper school and parents
- Communicate regularly with families about school programs and student progress
- Represent the upper school at community events and functions
- Collaborate with lower school leadership to ensure programmatic continuity

Bachelor's degree in education, educational leadership, or related field required
- 7+ years of teaching experience at the middle and/or secondary level
- 3+ years of administrative experience in an educational setting

Understanding of adolescent development and middle/high school curriculum
- Experience working with diverse age groups from early adolescence through young adulthood
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills
