High School Minister
FLINT BAPTIST CHURCH FLINT, TX POSITION TITLE: High School Minister REPORTS TO: Youth Pastor
POSITION STATUS: Full Time
POSITION SUMMARY This position is to provide ministry and Christian leadership for students and build young disciples for Christ while serving as a spiritual leader and role model. In collaboration with the Student Ministry Team, the High School Ministry Director will lead the High School Ministry and volunteers to implement a welcoming, safe, intentional, and engaging ministry.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
● Implement discipleship and leadership pathways for high school students that empower, equip, and encourage them to follow Jesus for life.
● Be the vision caster and ministry developer to high school students.
● Develop relationships with the students and the community to encourage them to follow Christ and grow in their walk with Him.
● Lead Bible-based, Christ-centered studies, and support ministries (Sunday morning, Wednesday evening, small group study, etc.)
● Assist in planning fellowships, retreats/camps, mission trips, and other student outings.
● Mentor youth in developing their leadership skills.
● Work with the Youth Pastor to establish and develop goals for the youth ministry.
● Keep current on resources for developing the youth ministry programming and participate in continuing education events and training opportunities.
● Be a liaison between the church and other community organizations, people, and resources related to youth and youth ministries.
● Communicate in a timely manner and as effectively as possible using all available resources (email, website, FBC app, newsletter, etc.). Ensure communication with church staff and leadership, parents, and the congregation.
● Make yourself available to youth in a variety of ways (i.e. lunch at school, attendance at extracurricular activities, visitation, times of crisis, etc.).
JOB SKILLS, REQUIREMENTS AND PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS
● A Seminary Degree is preferred. ● Minimum of 5 years of ministry experience. ● Strong communication and leadership skills.
● A passion for ministry service. ● Strong organizational skills. ● Proficiency in computer skills is a plus. ● A demonstrated Christian faith commitment. ● A commitment to good interpersonal relationships, teamwork, and support of church ministries. ● A commitment to confidentiality regarding all account records of the church, staff, and all church members. ● Must be Biblically sound and exhibit personal conduct that reflects positively on the integrity of the church. ● Show Christian character and values both personally and in their relationship with Flint Baptist Church members and fellow staff members. ● Dependable attendance.
