JOB SUMMARY
The Human Resources Navigator is responsible for various human resources functions. This includes a variety of responsibilities such as: administrative functions, recruiting and onboarding, workers' compensation, performance review planning, and benefits administration. This position requires an extremely perceptive person who is capable of relating to individuals at all levels within the organization. The Navigator must be sensitive to corporate needs, employee goodwill and the business needs.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS
The Human Resources Navigator reports directly to the Human Resources Director and provides direct essential support and guidance to all staff of GAP Ministries and partners.
AUTHORITY
The Human Resources Navigator has the support and authority to meet with Directors, department leaders, and employees in general for the purpose of creating open lines of communication, professional growth, identifying and solving issues, and providing support and direction on how to navigate through difficult personnel matters.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The primary duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Act as an employee relations liaison to build rapport and come alongside staff team members within GAP for the purpose of enhancing and/or developing stronger employee engagement, culture understanding, and improved job performance and to ascertain desires for professional development and/or advancement.
- Manage a schedule of 40 hours per week, five days a week, 9:00A to 5:00P.
- Recruit and facilitate the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborate with department managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings and project current and future staffing needs.
- Responsible for onboarding newly hired employees.
- Educate and communicate company personnel policies and procedures to newly hired and current employees.
- Create and maintain accurate, complete and confidential files on each employee.
- Participate in administrative staff meetings and attend other meetings and seminars.
- Participate in developing department goals, objectives and systems.
- Assist in managing workers' compensation injury claims.
- Respond to various information requests from governmental agencies, such as unemployment, DERS and DCS, in a timely manner.
- Act as Fieldprint station technician, as needed, scanning fingerprints, taking ID photos, and verifying I-9 documents for the public as well as staff.
- Personally grow in leadership and spiritual life.
- Represent GAP Ministries to the public in a positive, professional and responsible manner.
- Attend all staff meetings and training sessions, or arrange with SPLASH Manager, to review video of missed meetings or training.
- Perform other duties as requested and assigned by management.
QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES):
Required Education and Experience
- High School Diploma
- 1 to 2 Years human resource and/or office management experience.
Preferred Education and Experience
- Experience in human resources or office management, non-profit and social services.
- Bachelor's degree or the equivalent years of experience.
- Experience in the administration of benefits and compensation programs and other human resource programs.
Other Qualifications:
- Ability to work independently with little supervision required.
- Ability to remain calm while working under pressure in a busy environment.
- Ability to work within the time frame of standard policies and procedures.
- Exhibit extraordinary discretion and ability to maintain confidentiality related to sensitive company and employee information.
- Thorough knowledge of HR principles and federal/local regulations.
- Excellent ability to multi-task and prioritize in a busy, fast-growth environment.
- Proficient in the use of a personal computer and corresponding programs; preferably experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Gmail and Google Calendar and Google Suite, or similar web-based and computer programs.
- Exhibit flexibility and willingness to work closely with the team.
REQUIREMENTS
- Successfully passed the FBI fingerprint clearance check and procure a Fingerprint Clearance Card.
- Successful clearance of criminal background check(s) and Central Registry in Arizona.
- Must be 21 years old.
- Two references as follows: Current or most recent employment through reference checks; and at least one reference from persons not related to yourself by blood or marriage, who can attest to your character, knowledge, and skill.
- Successfully passed pre-employment and random drug screenings. This is a safety-sensitive position and GAP Ministries is an alcohol and drug-free (including marijuana) workplace and requires random drug screening to all employees to ensure enforcement of this policy.
- Have verification of legal eligibility to work in the United States.
- Human Resource package completed.
- Able to obtain medical release/permission to fulfill all physical tasks should any health issue develop or emerge during employment.
