Central Baptist Church is a southern baptist church in Douglasville, GA that embraces the use of both modern worship as well as doctrinally rich hymns in our worship service. CBC places a strong emphasis on building relationships and making a positive impact in our local community.

Position Overview:

The Interim Worship Director will be responsible for scheduling worship songs and musicians for the Sunday morning worship service. This role includes leading music during the Sunday service and conducting rehearsals on Wednesday nights. The Interim Worship Director will also be involved in recruiting and training new musicians as required. The Interim Worship Director will work closely with the Choir/Orchestra Director; Lead Pastor; Audio Visual Lead; and musicians in planning and leading congregational worship. We use Planning Center to schedule songs and musicians. The ideal candidate will lead the team in a worshipful service, foster relationships, and provide encouragement.

Responsibilities:

1. Schedule songs and musicians in a timely manner for Sunday services.
2. Lead rehearsals and the Sunday morning worship service, creating an atmosphere conducive to worship.
3. Recruit and train new worship team members and work with Audio/Visual Lead to plan services effectively.
4. Foster positive morale and relationship building within the worship team.
5. Manage the worship budget.

Requirements:

1. Ability to lead worship and confidently engage the congregation from the stage.
2. Demonstrated proficiency in both vocals and lead instrument.
3. Well-versed in playing modern worship music as well as timeless hymns.
4. Possesses strong leadership skills, encouraging team members and embracing a discipleship mindset.
5. Proficiency in using Planning Center.
