Kid’s Director
Job Overview
The Kids Director is responsible for creating environments, experiences, and relationships that draw children and their families into a growing relationship with God through Jesus Christ. This role leads all aspects of our Kids Ministry (birth–5th grade), from weekend services to outreach efforts and family engagement. We're looking for someone who loves kids, equips adults, thinks strategically, and creates environments full of energy, excellence, and impact.
Job Description
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Large Gatherings: Lead and oversee all aspects of Kids Ministry during weekly services (currently Sunday mornings and Tuesday evenings). This includes managing check-in, nursery, preschool, and elementary environments. You'll create fun, safe, and meaningful spaces where kids are engaged, volunteers are empowered, and families are welcomed. Curriculum will be delivered in an age-appropriate and engaging way that helps kids begin building their own relationship with Jesus.
- Family Engagement & Equipping: Help parents become the primary spiritual leaders of their homes. This includes providing tools, encouragement, and practical resources to help them disciple their children—whether through classes, email content, curated resources, or intentional conversations. This role requires regular vision casting and collaboration with the Lead Pastor to align family discipleship strategies with our overall church direction.
- Volunteer Development: Recruit, train, and develop a thriving team of volunteers who love God, love kids, and know how to connect both. You'll regularly invest in leaders through team huddles, 1-on-1s, coaching moments, and group training. Development includes everything from classroom strategy and spiritual guidance to culture-setting, communication tips, and crisis management. This role is deeply relational and deeply intentional.
- Outreach: Design and lead 3–4 outreach-oriented events per year that draw new families into connection with Access Church. Each event should be fun, well-executed, and offer a clear next step toward deeper engagement. This includes everything from event promotion and volunteer coordination to evaluating effectiveness and follow-up.
- Curriculum Development: Work with the Lead Pastor to choose or adapt curriculum that reflects the mission, values, and theological clarity of Access Church. Ensure teaching is gospel-centered, creative, and focused on the most essential truths we want every child to carry into middle school.
