Kids Director

Job Overview

The Kids Director is responsible for implementing Redemption Hill Kids Sunday classes, Nursery – 4th, including check-in processes, designing curriculum, and training and scheduling volunteers so that all children have a class to attend and can engage in God's word.

Job Description

Essential Job Functions

  • Provide inviting, engaging, clean, and safe environments for children and families.
  • Design and implement an efficient check-in/out process.
  • Research and ensure child safety laws and best practices are implemented.
  • Create weekly lessons and activities for Nursery through 4th grade.
  • Order materials/supplies.
  • Prepare classrooms with all materials: curriculum, activities, equipment (audio, video, etc.), and snacks.
  • Recruit, train, develop, and manage volunteers and teachers.
  • Maintain updated training processes and procedures which include, but are not limited to, child safety, classroom management, and teaching curriculum.
  • Schedule volunteers, manage substitutes, and cover open assignments as needed.
  • Communicate weekly with volunteers about the Sunday plan.
  • Organize Planning Center data for registration, volunteers, and lessons.

Supplemental Job Functions

  • Provide volunteer appreciation celebrations.
  • Collaborate with the Youth Director.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Understand and be in agreement with Redemption Hill's statement of faith, mission, and vision.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of, and commitment to, Christian education.
  • Demonstrate a mature ability to steward relationships well.
  • Demonstrate soft skills such as clear communication, emotional intelligence, and conflict resolution.
  • Have experience in classroom instruction, curriculum development, and planning children's activities.
  • Experience working in an Apple/Mac environment preferred
