Redemption Christian Church is searching for someone to serve as a Campus Kids Minister on their Jasper (Indiana) Campus. The church is 24 years old and currently has three locations averaging more than 2,300 in Sunday attendance, combined. The Jasper Campus has an average of 200-plus children in its ministry each Sunday.

The Kids Minister is the minister to kids ages birth to sixth grade and would serve within the structure of the Family Ministries Team at the church. This means both working within the vision of the team while leading other staff members and key volunteers in executing it.

Currently, the Kids Ministry of Redemption Christian Church is broken up into two parts. For nursery-elementary children, the ministry is called Redemption Kids. For preteen kids (fourth to sixth grade), the ministry is called Redemption Preteens.

REQUIRED CREDENTIALS

Candidates must possess the minimum requirements of:

• Aptitude of biblical truth and Restoration Movement theology.

• Ability to work as the leader of the Kids Ministry on the Jasper Campus.

• Help collaborate to set and execute the vision of the Kids Ministry.

• Excel as a member of the Family Ministries team, and the church ministry team as a whole.

• Competently and responsibly lead and guide kids, including parents and ministry volunteers.

• Competently and responsibly lead other staff members.

• Skillfully teach and facilitate programs to elementary and preteen kids.

• Creatively organize and implement outreach, discipleship, and worship programs, projects, and events.

• Successfully prepare volunteers for service and provide volunteers opportunities to serve.

• Efficiently and effectively serve as a ministry administrator.

PREFERRED CREDENTIALS

Candidates should possess the minimum requirements of:

• Bachelorʼs Degree from a college or university and/or prior experience in a comparable Children's Ministry context.

Job Description

Children's ministers must work under the authority and guidance of campus ministers (who

work under the guidance and authority of the Senior and Executive ministers) as a part of the

campus staff.

The minister will bring unity and coordination to the key elements of family ministries.

General Requirements:

1.) Must love God and demonstrate great moral character in his or her life.

2.) Must meet the biblical requirements of leadership spelled out in the Bible.

3.) Must work well with the team leadership model and have good people skills.

4.) Must be in agreement with the core ministry beliefs and ministry philosophy of Redemption.

5.) Must have giftedness in the areas of organization and structure as well as processes and

practices.

6.) Must show competence in finding the right people to do the jobs required and/or

competence in completing the necessary tasks assigned.

7.) Must work well with other staff to ensure a job is done and done well.

8.) Must posses a creative mind and/or a willingness to work toward creativity to effectively

lead God's people at Redemption in student ministry.

9.) Must have some basic skills in organization, administration, and communications.

10.) Must perform other tasks as requested by direct report(s) consistent with role.

Kids Minister

Job Description and Duties:

1.) Develop strategic plans for Redemption children's ministry. This will include needing to

plan, organize, and see through processes days, weeks, and months in advance. Additionally,

long-term vision for ministry to children and their families is required.

2.) Mentor and teach children in their walk with Christ. Seeing children begin and progress in

their discipleship is key in this role.

3.) Develop and mentor children's leaders. Recruitment is key to a successful ministry.

Volunteers are a vital part of children's ministry success and these volunteers must be trained,

organized, and led well.

4.) Participate and/or lead Family Ministries at Redemption Christian Church. Children's

ministers must work well as either a leader or part of an overall family ministries team,

coordinating with other staff members to ensure smooth transitions from life stage to life stage.

5.) Assist and participate in other areas of leadership and ministry for Redemption. Work as a

team member along with other Redemption staff in helping to cast vision and guide the church.

Responsibilities also include:

• Children's ministers need to have a variety of basic skills to effectively minister. These

include, but are not limited to: Interpersonal skills, honesty and integrity, able to give and

receive feedback, motivational, possessing a collaborative nature, ability to be open

minded and flexible.

• Additionally: Basic technical and computer abilities, problem solving, communication

understanding, able to communicate on all levels well, able to listen, able to articulate

thoughts, and good presentation skills,

• Also: Leadership skills, ability to organize and prioritize, ability to take initiative and

ownership, capable of making sound decisions, good team builder, ability to adapt and

manage change, and good coaching abilities.

• Budgeting skills will also be required to ensure good stewardship of the gifts God has

entrusted to us.

Reporting Structure:

Redemption Christian Church's children's ministers report to their respective campus ministers

to ensure consistency of message, clarity, and DNA maintenance.
