Kids Ministry Associate
Overview: In this role, you will assist in supporting and implementing the vision, goals, and day-to-day operations of The Mount Kids Ministry (TMK). This role requires a high-energy individual who thrives in a dynamic environment, enjoys working with kids and parents, and brings enthusiasm and joy to every ministry setting. Position Details: Reports to: Children's Minister This is a part-time position averaging 30 hours per week. The following commitments are required: Sunday: Serve in a support role, provide leadership, training, and support to volunteer teams, and secure supplies. Tuesday: 9:30 am staff meeting Some weekday evenings: This position will coordinate and oversee childcare for weekday ministries. Special Events: Assist with special events such as baptisms, date night childcare, family dedications, and family fellowship events. Summer Ministry: Assist with planning and promotion of camps, assist in leadership and execution of Vacation Bible School, and other events. Any additional hours are flexible and will be coordinated with the Children's Minister based on ministry needs. Responsibilities:
- Working closely with the Children's Minister, you will:
- Pray regularly for the children and families of The Mount.
- Build relationships with children, families, and volunteers.
- Creatively communicate the gospel in ways that kids will understand.
- Provide the Children's Minister with support for scheduling, training, and maintaining a healthy volunteer base for TMK.
- Be ready to teach or lead in the event that the Children's Minister or a volunteer is absent.
- Coordinate childcare needs for other ministries throughout the week.
- Provide support in the planning and execution of TMK events.
- Maintain materials and supplies required for TMK each week.
- Be present, visible, and engaged during scheduled programs and events, both for TMK and church-wide events.
- Help ensure that TMK is a safe place that complies with Ministry Safe sexual abuse prevention standards.
- Adhere to all policies of The Mount Church.
- Be a good steward of the resources God has provided to The Mount Church.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Children's Minister.
Personal Qualifications: The Ideal candidate will:
- Exhibit high energy, enthusiasm, and a heart for engaging children.
- Maintain a daily, growing relationship with Jesus Christ.
- Be a covenant member of The Mount or be willing to become one.
- Demonstrates strong interpersonal and relational skills.
- Exhibit excellent administrative and organizational ability.
- Has relevant prior experience working with children in a church, educational, or childcare setting.
- Demonstrates proficiency with basic computer skills, including regular use of Microsoft 365 tools (e.g., Outlook, Word, Teams) to support communication and administrative tasks.
- Communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing. Willing to learn new skills
Hours and Compensation
- Hours – This is a Part-time, non-exempt position requiring 30 hours per week.
- Compensation – This position includes an hourly rate of $15-$20 per hour, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
