Job Overview

Church of Emmanuel in Foxboro, Massachusetts, is seeking a Kid's Ministry Director for administration and oversight of our nursery through 5th grade children. Our Kid's Ministry Director will oversee every aspect of our children's ministry including the safety and spiritual development of the children, the organization and leadership of volunteers, communication with parents and the COE community, organization & implementation of children's & family events, and keeping the vision for children's ministry fresh.

The ideal candidate for this position will be gifted in leadership and teaching, and love working with children and families. This is a full-time, salaried position requiring 40 hours per week.

Church of Emmanuel is a multi-staff church with a regional draw of about 700, located in Foxboro, MA. A suburban community of about 20,000, Foxboro is located in the greater Boston Metropolitan area, just southwest Boston. It's proximity to major highways and commuter rail service, along it's with a strong school system makes it a great place for families. Foxborough is best known as the site of Gillette Stadium, home of the New England Patriots.

Job Description

Description: The Kids Ministry Director is responsible for leading the comprehensive ministry to children (Nursery to 5th Grade) at Church of Emmanuel.

Our Kids Ministry Vision: After growing up in our Kids Ministry, every incoming middle school student has a solid foundation of what it means to love God, love God's Word, and love others. Desired Spiritual Gifts: Leadership, Teaching, Exhortation, Hospitality.

Time Commitment: this is a salaried, 40-hours/week position.

Responsibilities: 1. Safety: ensure a safe environment for all children's programming at Church of Emmanuel. 2. Leadership: recruit, develop, and supervise a time of ninety Kids Ministry teachers, helpers and teen volunteers. Implement and lead quarterly meetings to assess and support the team's growth. Coach teachers on a regular basis through goal-setting and feedback. 3. Christian Education: Implement a curriculum that communicates the Gospel and biblical/theological truths to children in a winsome, age-appropriate way. 4. Communication: write a weekly newsletter and communicate regularly with parents. Announce special programs and events well in advance. Check-in on families going through major life events. 5. Organization: plan and implement relational events for children and families. Major calendar events include Easter in the spring, Vacation Bible School in the summer, Fall Festival in the autumn, and Christmas in the winter. 6. Vision-Casting: create a faith formation plan from birth to 5th grade that includes milestone events for each child at Church of Emmanuel.

Expectations 1. Daily Prayer: Pray for each child and parent in our church on a regular basis. 2. Support learning: understand the various stages of childhood development and tailor teacher training and the curriculum according to how kids learn. 3. Support young families: advocate consistently and passionately for the young children and parents at staff meetings. Work collaboratively with parents of children with special needs and disabilities. 4. Teaching: regularly practice the spiritual gift of teaching students on Sunday mornings. 5. Collaboration: attend weekly staff meetings and Family Ministry meetings on a weekly basis. Support the overall vision and mission of Church of Emmanuel by being part of the staff team.
