Leadership Profile

The ideal prospect will:

• Have an abiding relationship with Jesus and a love for God’s Word.
• Display maturity in their Christian faith.
• Relate well to kids (5^th grade and under) and be passionate about helping them know Christ through His Word.
• Have prior experience in kids ministry and be capable of training others in it.
• Be effective at building a team and recruiting volunteers.
• Seek to partner with parents and encourage discipleship in the home.
• Be intentional and enthusiastic about building relationships with others.
• Have excellent communication skills.
• Be able to adapt to long, hard winters (it snows a LOT here) and rural living (we’re 30 min. from the nearest grocery store/Wal-Mart) 

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and direction to NRCC’s Kids Ministry (5^th grade and under), which includes (but is not limited to) the following:

• Kids Church on Sunday mornings – Kids Church takes place during the teaching portion of our worship gathering and consists of a 15-minute bible lesson and a 15-minute game or activity. The Kids Director will be responsible for recruiting, training, and scheduling a rotating team of adult and teenage volunteers who lead this time each week, as well as selecting age-appropriate bible curriculum.  The age cutoff for Kids Church is flexible and largely depends on our volunteer base.  Our priority is to provide this service for families with young children.

• Family Activities – Plan and organize activities/outings throughout the year (approximately once per quarter), where kids and families come together to do something fun or to serve our community. This could include any number of outdoor activities (hiking trips, ice fishing, cookouts, etc.), fun outings in town (bowling, escape room, etc.), or community service projects.

• Summer Camp or VBS – Work with parents and volunteers to select, plan, and organize a summer opportunity that is specifically designed to help kids grow spiritually. This could be either a kids camp, family camp, or VBS.

• Communicate with parents on a regular basis to keep them apprised of kids ministry activities and needs.

• Meet with the Lead Pastor and other church staff to pray, plan, and coordinate schedules as needed.

• Work with Lead Pastor and Treasurer to develop an annual kids ministry budget and oversee kids ministry expenditures throughout the year. 

Compensation 

• $18-30K Annually
